Hi All
I got a new baby beardie last week at the Westchester Reptile show and he/she just doesn't seem to be eating all that well yet and starting to get worried. He doesn't seem to like being watched while he eats so it is hard to figure out how much exactly he is eating. I have only witnessed a couple of crixs and about 5 phoenix worms that I have actually seen him eat. But he has pooped once or twice every day so he must be eating something. Temps are at about 95-100. He is on paper towels. Just getting a little worried. He is just 4 1/2" long.
Hello there,
I brought home a new baby a couple of days ago so I am going through quite the same problem
My girl will not eat any live prey yet, but will nibble on the occational veg.
Some dragons adjust to a new home in days, some take weeks.
If you are getting concerned about your dragons intake you can get some organic chicken/turkey babyfood and mix a little calc/vit into it and dab a little on your babies nose.
They are curious beasts so they will usually lick it off out of curiosity.
You can also put a dab or two of babyfood on your babies veg. Sometimes it attracts them to take a bite.
Im giving Miso a drop or two of babyfood every day.
This will help you keep up your babies protein levels until he feels brave enough to start eating alone.
