Hi I'm very new to the forums and I'm really excited to introduce my new baby Beardie named Kaiju! I recently got him today from a place called PetKingdoms USA here in Las Vegas and he looks about a week old. When I first picked him up at the store I saw that he was the most active and ate veggies and crickets so I had to pick him up! I just had two quick question though: How many crickets and veggies should I feed my new baby Beardie a day and What kind of Beardie is he exactly (I hardly listened to the lady because I was so excited! LOL)? I fed him 3 crickets right now and he's a beastly eater! I also have a juvenile Beardie and Chinese Water Dragon and they eat about 13 crickets a day. Just wondering because I don't wanna overfeed him and I've never had a lizard this small.

Congrats on your new obsession lol! You'll wanna feed him as many crickets as he can have in 15 mins 3 times a day. Seems like a lot but the babies require lots of protein. 80% crickets 20% veggies. I usually dust off my crickets and keep them in a separate tank and when it's time to feed Leo I throw him I'm the cricket cage for 15 mins and he goes crazy

Thanks! He seemed to eat 5 today as he isn't interested anymore! So we'll see how get goes tomorrow! He's a real sweetie and loves to be handled already.
That's good that he can be handled. Try putting him in a different cage with a whole bunch of crickets so he can eat as many as possible. 5 is too little :/. mine eats at least 25 a day. Just try different stuff until you figure out what works
