Ok, so im sorry for being a pain, and pretty much asking the same thing again, but im just confusing myself alot! lol
ok, well i have made a 4ft x 2ft x 18inch enclosure that is made out of melamine (whiteboard)
im currently working out what lighting/heating i need for the enclosure.
this is what i know so far to get..
reptisun 10.0 tube i think 32"?
some sort of heating/basking light (this is what i need help on too! which one would be best suited, if you suggest one, could u perhaps send me a link to what it looks like too please)(alot of people are suggesting a Mega Ray? im not really sure what that is, and what it does.. is it a basking AND a UV light aswell?.. if someone could send me a link that would be great!)
im going to be getting a Heat Emitter aswell, for the night time, expecialy in the winter, but this will be on a seperate thermostat to the other lights.
most likely going, to put in a normal house hold light bulb, perhaps one of those energy saving ones, jst for extra light and so it dosnt give off to much heat aswell.
the heating/basking lights will be going on a dimmer timmer, so when it gets to hot the lights are going to dim until the heat drops.
i know some of you might think that this might not be a good idea because it my hurt the BD's eyes, but thats why im going to have the other normal bulb, to maintain the light that the heating/basking one would.
would that work? or am i looking at it the wrong way?
any advice and suggestions would be great.
ill most likely post some pictures soon of the enclosure, but atm my camera is playing up on me..
the reptisun 10.0 is one of the best sources of uv.
as far as heat. you can use any kind of bulb that keeps the heat right. even just a regular house bulb.
if u want to kill two birds with one stone. u can get a multi vapor bulb. mvb. it gives off both heat and uv.
when it is night time u dont want any light so get a cermaic hear emitter. its just a cermaic thing that screws into any light fixture and gives off heat but no light
You can get a lot of info on MVB's @ http://www.reptileuv.com/megaray-products.php. They also have CHE . Now onto the dimmer subject, you cannot dim a MVB or a fluorescent lamp, it will not work.
