Did something happen to your beardie after this post?? And you’re certain it has something to do with the basking bulb? I’m very confused about what you’re saying because almost every bearded dragon I’ve seen have at least 1 basking bulb (non-CHE) and 1 uvb bulb in their tank. Every breeder, every reptile store, every reptile vet I’ve seen that talks about bearded dragons care, all make sure these 2 bulbs are the baseline for the health of a bearded dragon. Please elaborate.
Yes! These non Vet or Wildlife carers understand is that animals or reptiles which have grown under basking lamps don’t know how to be cold. 21 is ****ing cold to bearded dragons. CHE is permanent heat. If they’ve spend 2 years under a CHE then they need to stay under a CHE!

My little girl basks amazing under a CHE , got stressed & nearly died under basking lamp. She’s my girl so I don’t give a ****,?This page can go **** itself when it comes to her life. The piece of **** that told me my vet instructed setup was wrong! They are too uneducated to know the reason.

Again if bearded dragon lives under CHE not basking lamp, then if needs to stay that way!
Yes Basking lamp with UVA may be superior! However risking the reptile is based upon their experience! Don’t **** up their life or understanding because you released better way. See what they are happier with and make adjustments to compensate

Okay first of all having a basking bulb doesn’t mean you can’t use a CHE. What we were saying is that they need a light bulb for a basking spot, then if temperature is still low, during the day or at night, you can use a CHE or other heat sources like a heat projector to bump up the temperature.

Secondly, although I’m sorry to hear your beardie had become sick and hope she stays healthy, it doesn’t help anyone calling people or this forum names. People offered advice with good intentions and don’t deserve this rude attack towards them. That is the consistent advice to many, many bearded dragons, on this forum or not.

I went through this thread and not once in the previous conversation did you mention her living under a CHE her whole life. Taking it out on others because of an issue she previously had that you didn’t mention, isn’t fair at all. I am not an expert so I’ll refrain from commenting whether or not your theory is accurate. Seems like you’ve made up your mind anyways. As long as the beardie is thriving that’s all it matters.

She became stressed not sick.! I take my girl to vet when she is, and have wildlife carers to assist, cause hey I’m an Australian with Australian Reptile Specialists!!
Point I’m making to all of you. Shut up! Basking lamps are superior just not ok for any reptile who has never basked off one.
Those kept under CHE don’t know how to be cold. It’s not healthy for you to recommend basking lamps for that Reason.

Yes, my bearded dragon thrives no thanks to this page! Yes, for 2 years prior to me getting her she lived in 45x45x60 enclosure basking off ceramic heater.
You do not change them off CHE! Ever! Outside time is essential. My little girl is basking at random hours. Toady she was basking right up until 6pm when lights turned off. She cannot and does not understand basking lamps!2 years! Do not tell people to get a basking lamp unless their pet has had one in the past! Again I agree they are superior, however do not make anyone feel bad because that’s not their set up.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
