OK well my incubator quit on me like Friday I noticed it wasn't coming on. I have ordered another heat wafer for it but I won't get it for another couple of days. I have been checking the temp inside the incubator it has been staying at 80 degrees. Do you think the eggs will be ok for a few more days at 80 degrees? They don't appear to be drying, collapsing or anything like that. Wouldn't you know it would happen on the weekend! I have ordered two so next time I will be prepared. Any advice would be appreciated. I am keeping it in the warmest part of the house.
They should be fine at a consistent temperature of 80 degrees. The eggs will just develop a lot slower and take longer to hatch. Since the temperature is so close to the recommended temperatures, it should be fine for a few more days. Just keep an eye on them.
Stephie, you are doing everything good! If the temps fall a little lower you can always use a cermic heat element above the incubator to help warm it up, just not to close! Just make sure to get the new incubator set up to the proper temps and humidity before transferring the eggs! Hope this helps...
Hey thanks alot guys that makes me feel better! Hopefully the wafer will be here soon and I can get the temps back up. I got 34 eggs right now and I really want to see them hatch out all good. I am definitely keeping a close eye on them!
I got the part for my incubator, actually I ordered three of them! The eggs look ok, their's no mold or collapsing going on so I am hoping they weren't affected that much. And hopefully it won't add to many days to thier hatching time. Now I am just wandering if she is planning on laying again or not. It's to early to tell right now. I wouldn't mind if she didn't lay again, 34 eggs is alot ! Especially since it is my first time with babies. I guess we will see ! Thanks to this site I will be able to raise them up healthy !
