So as the title says my beardie was seen last Monday by a specialist and since her last visit last month the ultrasound is now showing her follicles have returned.

Back in June Zilla got really sick and had to have surgery that week to remove the follicles and all fix her. Since then we have been dealing with health issues on and off. Some fluid on the heart, gunked up gallbladder, maybe a spot of discoloration on the liver, random swelling in the feet to even constant high calcium levels but she gets tremors like it’s low.

Anyways last month she was found to have the gallbladder issue and the possible liver issue. They think the swelling is related to the gallbladder since she always comes back negative for gout. She’s been on meds and doing great. We’ve been going outside every warm day we get and even in the house she’d be running, jumping and climbing like she had when she was young. All was looking good. Then last Mon we found out her drs here apparently didn’t get all the follicles out and now they are starting to grow again. Her specialist which is over 3 hours away in Ohio said to come back in a month and we’ll see if there is a change.

Next couple days she did great acting healthy as could be. 3rd day she wanted in shade most the day and even wanted to just lay down like she was wanting to go to sleep. Following day she was somewhat active again to where if she got warm enough she’d start taking big jumps and running around a bit, even trying to climb walls or whatever she could. Last couple days she started acting weak in one arm like she’s getting her tremors back (more noticeable today) and she just wants to lay around again.

I already called and left a message for her specialist to see if she wants to try liquid calcium again. I have some left over since Dec last time she was on it. She’s hasn’t been on any calcium for over a month because the specialist said it’s still showing high in her blood and since she’s going out on warm days she doesn’t need it right now. Unfortunately last few days and next week to as far as I can see we have cold weather again so we can’t get out. I fear the follicles may be draining the calcium in her system like it did the first time. Only local vet I have left that will see her I can’t get in until Mon and I had bad experiences there when younger with 3 different pets.

The problem is my car sucks so running back to Ohio all the time is not the easiest task since I have to find someone to either go with me or let me borrow their car. But I prefer her. She said they have done tones of these surgeries to remove follicles and only ever lost an iguana from other health conditions shortly after.

I really don’t know what to do. I don’t want her to lay around feeling bad and I’m terrified of putting her through another surgery (hasn’t even been a year since last one) on top of that with the vet over 3 hours away and everyone’s work schedules that would possibly go with me complicated things there. Not to mention we would probably have to stay overnight or a couple for her to recover enough to come home. I’m not sure how this vet does it.

Has anyone ever had a second follicle surgery done on their bearded? I’m so worried it won’t be a good outcome but I can’t let her lay around Ill. I really don’t want to think about having her put down either. With her acting like she is now I fear I may have to make a choice soon. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you. I did email her after the vet visit last week to updater her. I know she’s busy so didn’t want to keep bothering her. Wasn’t even going to post on here but since Zillas acting weaker it has me worried I’ll have to make a decisions soon on what to do.

Wow I haven't logged in for years. Hi!
So to any reading this, how on earth do I post a thread 😅 New here, possibly too old for this

I have questions about bubbles on our bearded dragons eye.

So he’s gotten bubbles on his eye. We wiped them off and it’s only been twice in the last few weeks. Should we be concerned? No coughing or congestion. He’s very hungry and sleeps well. He’s 8-9 month range. His humidity is 30-40 day time and as high as 50-55 at night to early morning.
Should we be concerned?
