We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

No but she's been VERY flirty and even jumped into Gabriel's bath, then Leo's bath. So not sure what's going on, she's still pooping like normal & eating like normal (even her greens), so we'll see. She's going to the vet with Lonzo no Aug 2, so maybe my vet will be able to tell me if she's carrying. Will let you know!

Got an email from my vet, she wanted pics of Leo's puffy eyes. The results on the blood tests, she said, were good. She's just waiting for another report from the pathologist. So far so good, hopefully nothing bad is found. Changing him to dubia instead of supers has done the trick for him! So that was great news, too!

Hi Deb,

I hope everything is alright with Bunny. Saying a little prayer for her :).

Puff is so funny, getting into the bath with the boys (hey wait, isn't Leo her brother :?). Glad to hear everything is looking good for your babies.

I've really got to update my thread (works been really busy the past month, which is good I'm getting a few hours of Overtime and getting a pay raise 8)). I did get the results from the adeno test on Hedwig and he is positive . But I'm working with Tracie on supplements for him and he is even gaining weight :).

Well I better get back to work my 30 minutes for lunch are up

Hey Sabrina, thanks for dropping in. I'm hoping Bunny will be ok, more carnivore care tonight after a drop of calcium. Once she's back on crickets she'll be fine, as I dust them with Repashy every time she gets them, so gets all her vit/min, calcium and fruit flavoured crickets, too

Here is a great site you have to check out, there's a whole section on adeno www.Everythingreptile.org. It was put together by Amanda Mosher and 3 other ladies. Amanda has 2 or even 3 adeno positive dragons. Her Casper was so tiny when she found him at a pet shop & stayed tiny until a few months ago when he started growing, growing, growing. Now he's 18 1/2" long and over 200g. You can contact her on Facebook under her name, she & her hubby run Dragonheart Sanctuary and now have 14 dragons. They rescue them or take them in and keep them forever. She's a very knowledgable lady, I've learned alot from her and helped her out when she was first starting the sanctuary. She's a great go to person & will take the time to get back to you, too. I'm glad Tracie is helping you, too, she's a wonderful person & has so much knowledge!

Congrats on the raise! That's great news, more $ to keep your babies in the style they've become accustomed to

And no, Leo isn't Puff's brother, they were in the same tank when they were rescued by my neighbour back in 2010. It's funny that I ended up with Puff after almost 4 years, though. And Puff loves all males, regardless, she's such a hussy  Love her!

Hi Deb! How is Bunny today? My folks got here Tuesday and Justin is due in this p.m. Still no eggs from Maisy.
I hope you and the crew are doing well. Your Puff cracks me up. Buster was funny yesterday. He was out running around and was showing an unusual interest in the dogs, who were laying down. Buster put his hands on Ralph's side and tried to jump up on him. Ralph got up and walked away, but I set him on Woody and Woody didn't move for a minute so I took a picture. I'll send it to you.

I got the picture, so cute & loved Buster's black beard.

Bunny isn't any better, I found her in her hide when I got home, she still can't climb the glass and is making a small noise in her throat. So she's going to the vet with me on Monday am. I'm just going to take the whole tank with me as it's small and lightweight. I don't know how else I'd get her there. Meanwhile I'm giving her carnivore care every night with a drop of calcium. She LOVES carnivore care, she ate over 1 ml of it last night. So I'm hoping that's helping her. So best go take care of that!

Hi Deb, hope everything is ok with Bunny. Wonder what's causing the noise in her throat and inability to climb the glass? Great that she loves the CC so much and is getting her calcium too.

Puff is something else and sure enjoys all the male attention she's getting. What a stinker she is jumping in the bath water with them.

Hope you get a clean pathology report on Leo too. And, all is well for all the others too. Always something to worry about.

Happy to hear that your dad is doing good except for his knee. My mom (81 yrs) is having problems with hers too and needs a knee replacement. It's so hard seeing your parents have problems getting around & with so much pain.

Great that you're ankle is stronger & you can handle the stairs so well, try not to overdo it though. Are you sleeping better & less tired now? Hope you can get long term coverage, you so need that with all you've been going through. Sorry to hear that you haven't seen Leo again in a while. :(

Esther, I was trying to find your thread to ask about Maisy but I couldn't find it. Buster sounds so funny.

Hey Mike, how are you doing? Wow 9 cresties, not including offspring, are you getting into breeding to sell them? And Zeus is doing well, so glad to hear it.

It was heartbreaking to lose Rubio, still haven't gotten used to not having him here, but I still have 5 others and 2 geckos to care for, that helps. Next weekend is a long weekend and I've told myself I have to get his memorial done without crying so much. It's really hard to look at his pictures, I have to many of them, 6 years worth. But I think it will now help me to go through them all & write up all about my big baby boy!

And my grandson will be a year old on Aug 2 and my d-i-l is having a girl on Oct 19, so my son is a very busy man!

As for Bunny, she surprised me tonight be being at the top of her branch, beside her leaves. I left a couple of crickets in her tank to see if she'll eat them, I'll check on her before I go to bed. If all is right on the weekend, I'll cancel the vet visit, I'll have to see how she is by Sunday.

Hi Diane, yes, Bunny seems to be doing better, but I'll see my Sunday if I cancel the vet or not.

My sis & b-i-l paid for a ticket to get my niece over here from London, England. Ian took her over to my mom's yesterday as a surprise, well it was HUGE surprise to both Mom and Dad to open the door & there she was beaming at them! She'd been so worried about Dad after his fall that Gail decided it was best to get her over here, so we're having a big party at my folks tomorrow for supper, it'll be so GREAT to see her.

Everyone else if doing really well, dragon wise. Gabriel made me laugh the other morning. I was at the computer, he was out (as usual) running around. I wasn't paying any attention, as he never tries to get out of the living room. Then I heard this noise beside me, glanced over, the little brat was on the couch trying to jump on the table beside me! Next thing I'm staring at him, his eyes go wide & whoop, he fell off the couch onto the carpet below  I ran over to check but he was fine, just looked a bit sheepish. guess it's time to cut his nails!

So far so good with Leo, I'll hear more from my vet later next week about his eyes. His blood tests were all good, so much lower than last time, so that was all good news!

As for Long Term, finished all I need, just need to print out some blood tests and hoping to get it in the mail by Monday morning. I won't have time to get that done tomorrow, so will do it on Sunday, get it all together & get it to the post office Monday am on my way to work. Then the waiting starts again. I told my manager that if I'm turned down this time, there will be no further appeals. I'm getting used to a full time salary now!

Diane, my dad is booked in for his knee replacement on Nov 6 and my mom is looking for a condo without stairs to move into. Not sure if they'll get that going before Nov, we'll see how that goes. There's alot of stuff to handle getting their house cleared out, but my dad can't handle the stairs anymore, so it's really important they find a place soon. My mom's finding condos in her areas really expensive, my sister thinks they should rent & then can take their time selling the house. So we'll see what happens.

Puff continues to try to jump into the bath next door, so now she has her bath on her own. I do two of the boys, then the other two, then she's on her own. If she wants to jump into the other sink, she'll still be on her own. Problem solved

I'm hardly using an elevator anymore, climbing up 80 steps on my way to work, soon I'll be climbing the 3 floors up to my office, too, and walking to work, which is about 15-20 min. I want to be down 10 more lbs by Xmas & then the other 10 lbs next year. I figure if I have a long term goal, it will go better with losing than trying to lose too quickly. This way it'll stay off. I also want to get into yoga and have a couple of leads for classes on weekends, so will be looking into those and seeing what's what with my ankle. My physio was amazed at how strong it's become. The ligament that was almost severed is now in place & strong. Only took 18 mo to get it that way! So no more physio unless I feel the need, my arm is about 99% now, hardly hurts and will just keep improving. So it's all good!

Well I know what was bugging Bunny, she just laid a huge egg, nice and white. So gave her some calcium and Repashy, she licked it all up. I got some new crickets today, so will see if she has her appetite back tomorrow. I'll continue giving her nightly calcium and Repashy by syringe, too. So cancelled the vet appt for her tomorrow, as she's now getting around on the glass with no issues.

The dragons are all doing well, too. Lonzo got a couple of hours of sun basking today. Gabriel got out. Fed them all, too. It's so hot today, even warmer than yesterday and it's not cooling down as quickly either. We're supposed to have very warm weather this week, yuck, will be glad to get to work on Tuesday.

I'm so glad to hear that Bunny is doing better. One huge egg? Do they only lay one? So who goes to the vet tomorrow? Will you be getting Leo's blood work? I hope you got to see your human Leo today, but I wouldn't be surprised if Eric was "busy."

No eggs from Maisy yet. She lost 21g last week, but put back on 12 this week. No desire to dig.

I got some crickets for my angel girl Cissy. She was very excited the first time she had some, and even caught one I was holding for her! The rest of the time, she'd think she had it and chew real big, and I would sneak the cricket in her mouth when she was chewing.

I've been busy with my folks here and Justin home. Have to share the computer, too. I'm keeping up with you and your crew, though. :D

Didn't I tell you I got Leo's blood work back? Being on the roaches and bok choy since November lowered all his ratios by 1/2. So he's got normal kidney and liver function! I can send you the results of both, if you want, I couldn't figure it all out but my vet said the results were great. There was a high actual blood result, but she said it's being looking at & she also wanted pictures of his googly eyes (they're very large compared to all the other dragons), so sent her those, plus a pic from last May that showed his eyes more normal. So she's doing some research, has sent out the pictures and blood results to various places and will get back to me.

The vet appt tomorrow morning was just for Bunny, so I was glad to cancel it. I have to have a blood test done tomorrow am as I'm getting a CT scan on my left eye on Aug 12 to make sure the tumour that my eye surgeon found in the tear duct gland while doing the surgery May 6, hasn't come back. I have to have one every 6 months going forward. Seems this tiny tumour can come back as cancerous, even though this time it was benign. Just something else to worry about!

And no, I didn't see Leo again today. Seems Tara is very sick to her stomach with this new baby and Eric was running around like crazy, all the usual things. I also found out that my sister, niece and I have been cut off her Facebook, which sucks. So I told Eric when I called him last night (he was putting Leo to bed) that I'll be coming over next Sunday, just wanted to know what time. He sounded so frazzled, what in the heck is he going to be like when there are 2 babies and one a newborn, squalling all night? Talk about kids having kids!

I got some great photos from the party at my folks last night, I'm just too tired to load them to Photobucket, but I'll see about that tomorrow. Blood test in the early am, then over to a friend to deliver some roaches, then over to another friend's early in the aft to avoid rush hour traffic, as have a 3:30p appt for the CPAP machine's memory file to be downloaded, then sent to my sleep specialist and then see her at 4p. Once that's done, pay for the CPAP machine as it's working fine for me. It's just going to take a long while to start making up for the lousy sleep I've been getting for the last 8 or so years! Then home. Right now I"m waiting for the dryers to be emptied out so I can put my washed laundry in them to get it all dry. Living in an rented condo without washer/dryer means I use the washer/dryers at the end of the hall, but it also means I can do 3 loads at the same time.

Bunny is doing really well. After a week of extra calcium and Repashy (switched from Carnivore Care), she's back to having a voracious appetite for her crickets. She's running up and down glass and her stick and seems normal. I'm still going to give her a couple drops of calcium a few times a week, just to be sure, but it's great to see her back to her normal self.

So here are the pics from the party Saturday night, managed to get everyone in there, even me.
Our two clowns, Ryder and Carly

Most of us:
Dad, Ryder on Tehya's knee, Mom, me, Emily and Carly, squished onto the couch in the living room

Tehya, Emily, Carly, Ryder, David and Richard (who has trouble smiling in pictures  )

Tehya, Emily, Carly and Gail in a group hug. Outside on the deck.

And then including Ryder

Again!

Dad and Tehya, he's doing remarkably well!

Emily and Ryder. She'd been at the stables all day, so Richard went & got her so we could enjoy her company, too.

My b-i-l Ian bugging my Mom. He does it so well, too  Drives her batty

So yesterday am, I put Gabriel out as usual after the others had had a turn and I heard some strange noise. So I ran into the living room and found Gabriel like this:

He seemed determined to get behind the TV and was sitting on the ramp's deep dome wire. So I found a higher partition and put it up after I found him like this:

Only Gabriel would figure out a way to give me a morning heart attack

Now he can't even get close to that wire!
