We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

He already has Gina, he is a little stinker that is konked out on my shoulder right now. Gabriel has buried himself in the sheets beside me. I have blankets for them both, I'm going to keep them with me until later tonight. Gabriel was kind enough to poop all over his basking platform, it's soaking and I don't have the strength to clean it up. Later...

Joanne was sweet enough to bring me groceries this am (oh my, I love email transfers, don't even pay for them because I'm bank staff!), collard greens, too. So I'm all set for another week. I can't wait until I can actually get out & do my own grocery shopping! But that won't be for awhile yet.

We're all going out to Lafflines, a comedy club down the road from me. Annika is hosting a fundraiser for her figure skating group (sychronized skating) tomorrow evening and I'm going. Get to dress up, too, as my sister bought me a couple of great skirts to wear. Don't have any pants that will fit over my splint or the boot when I get it. So skirts do fine. I'm looking forward to getting out for awhile!

Had a talk with my son today, he's exhausted. Little Leo has had a stomach bug for a week & Eric and Tara have been up with him at night. After I talked to him, I talked to Tara who told me Eric had laid down with Leo on the couch & they were both passed out. So we had a long talk and came to some good conclusions. They found a townhouse close to Eric's work and they're moving the weekend of Oct 31/Nov 1. They're so looking forward to it, as it has an extra bedroom on the main floor, has a 1/2 basement, a deck off the kitchen. It's bigger than what they have. The kids will share a bedroom but their toys will be in the playroom (basement) and that's where they'll play, plus the 1st floor, too, but upstairs will be for sleeping and reading. So that's all good. They got the place without a credit check, just an employers letter and a letter of reference from their landlord (how that worked I don't know, seeing as they owe him $ & he was ready to evict them. Maybe he just wants them out). So it all sounds better. Keith is going to oversee funds for rent and car insurance so that doesn't get behind ever again. We'll see how this all plays out. I'm for mending fences & seeing my grandkids!

I'm so glad that you and Tara are getting along and developing a relationship.

Living closer to Eric's work will cut down on the commute time and money spent on commuting, which will help with them in saving money and sanity.

I think so, too Gina. They've had a rough year together, but Tara said she wants to fight for her marriage because she loves Eric and I know Eric loves Tara, so I want them to grow stronger together. The new place is going to give Tara extra space, so I think that will help her get through her busy days. I just want to mend fences and see my grandkids more often.

I've been invited to be with them for Haloween night. Tara has a scooter that she's going to lend me to go along with them. I'm really looking forward to that!

And tonight I get to go out with my sibs to Comedy night. That's going to be alot of fun! I even have a nice outfit to wear, tanks to my sister!

I am so glad you found Castiel! For some reason my e-mail wasn't updating me on the thread correctly (or somehow I missed a page of posts!). Pogo is so good at being a chameleon that sometimes we lose her IN HER CAGE!

I know, right? But she's small enough to get away with it. Castiel is a huge dragon, so I was so upset that I couldn't find him, just didn't look in the right place. Well now I've found another of his hiding places, hear that Castiel? You can't hide from me anymore!

Gabriel and Castiel slept with me last night. They slept side by side under different blankets. I was going to put them back last night, but I got so tired, I just left them there. I woke up at 5a and moved them into their tanks, under protest mind you! So they're basking away and I got another 3 hours of sleep.

It was fun to have them in my bed, mortal enemies that they are, they sure are sweet when they sleep. So I put them on the bet at 4p and they just stayed. I cuddled Gabriel for awhile first, hid him under sheets, the got Castiel, cuddled him until he fell sleep and had beardie blankets to cover him up. Will do that once in awhile, give me company! Leo's turn soon.

Ya - Pogo would get killed in the night by accident if she slept in the bed. My husband is a roller and blanket tangler. I did ask him if he would build her a little dragon crib for next to the bed when she gets older, though! So - I guess when they are out for the night, they can't smell each other or anything and wake up and get pissy (I meant Castiel and Gabriel - not Pogo and my husband)?

Nope, they were still sound asleep when I woke up, so that was good. I have to sleep on my back because of my ankle, has to be up at night to prevent any swelling, so I've gotten used to not moving much at night.

That would be fund for her to have her own little bed beside you. Alot of people have their dragons sleeping in their room. I love it!

Hi Jenn, good to hear from you.

It's been a busy day, got the boot on my foot, still 4-6 weeks no weight bearing, but can rest the heel on the floor. My sis took me, then we went to Red Cross to borrow a chair to sit in the shower, now that I can take the boot off for that. Have to exercise my left foot for 3x 30 min/day, so take the boot off for that, otherwise it's on. Also sis rented the knee walker (it's called that, not ankle scooter. So I'm set, it's so easy to use! Much better than crutches, but I'll have to use crutches to get up and down any stairs.

So then Gail tried to drive me home, but police incident on the highway, blocked both ways, so I'm back at her place again. Luckily I fed them well on Sunday am, as I'm not sure if I'm home tonight or tomorrow am. Either way, I'll be home for awhile. Plus I'm allowed to drive as long as I can fit the boot in the well beside the brake, luckily I have an automatic, so will see how that goes. It's nice to have my independence back, though.

I'll be so glad to get home, though! I miss my babies. :love5:

That's too bad that you may not be able to go home tonight due to the police activity on the highway. Maybe it'll be cleared in a few hours.

I'm sure you're glad to be out of that mummified wrapping and have your skin breathing again. Be sure to not start walking on it (boot or not) earlier than you're supposed to. No setbacks allowed ;)

That's miserable! We never realize how much we depend on our legs/feet until something happens. I fractured my leg many years ago, and I couldn't even get a walking cast for weeks b/c the doc was afraid that the bone might shift & he would have to do surgery. So there I was, on crutches, with a broken right leg. Couldn't drive, could barely maneuver around the house. I swore I'd never take any part of me for granted again! It healed over time, but I do have arthritis now. (I think maybe he should've referred me for therapy and didn't. So be sure & ask once you are all healed.)

Wow, Jenn, sorry to hear about your leg, that must have been miserable. I hate crutches but will need to use them if I need to go anywhere with stairs. The knee walker is great indoors and out but too heavy for me to carry any distance, so still need those darned crutches, having it at home, though, will be wonderful, as I'm getting around on a dining room table with wheels, not the easiest way to get around but it was better than crutches.

I think somehow I got an empathy injury from reading your posts about being disabled. I did something to my back yesterday and I can barely move without feeling like I am being stabbed in the back. Went to doctor today. They did some tests to rule out kidneys and spinal cord injury - they think it's just a muscle that went wonky, but I will be laid up for a few days while it gets better. I could only feed stinky Pogo once today.

It is good to hear that you have the boot and knee walker - no more mummy. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your back, posted on your thread. Muscles strains can happen without you even realizing it. Had a sore thigh muscle, the left leg, must be from crutches use and the new contraption. I'm upright with my left leg bent when I'm on the knee walker. So more strain on that left thigh. When I got home, it was so sore, I had to lie down. It's already starting to feel better, just from resting it, I'm hoping your back will feel better soon. A heating pad would probably help, too, to relax the muscle and help it heal.

So I got home, finally, this afternoon, but had a shower at my sister's. Oh joy, it felt wonderful! First shower in 2 weeks, washing by facecloth just doesn't do the trick. Now that wonderful shower chair is in my bathtub. Never thought I'd miss having a shower

So I roll in on my knee walker and check out my kids. Nathaniel was up while I was away, guess that didn't last long as he was back in his hide. Cierra was still asleep. Gabriel was black bearding and very dark but 2 minutes of a snuggle with Mom and his bright colours were back. He's pooped down the side of his basking platform and I wasn't there to clean it up, so he was very annoyed

Leo was at the bottom of his tank, so a snuggle with me and back under his light.

Castiel was in his hide glaring at me, obviously the worms I'd left weren't enough for his majesty yesterday, so he was sulking. Didn't even come out while I was in the living room and I was tired, so left him there. I'll deal with him tomorrow

It's so good to be home, even if I don't feel that well. In the future I'll make sure I have extra meds, just in case, as I had nothing with me at my sister's yesterday and not taking 2 doses of my diabetic meds & not having a good night's sleep, didn't help at all. Doing the exercises on my ankle made it swell, so had to ice it...the list goes on. At least I'm allowed to drive, which is great, so going to the chiro tomorrow am. Will get the "kids" bathed and fed before I go and snuggles when I get back. They're all so sleepy, too. I'll deal with the 3 boys tomorrow, on Friday will get Nathaniel and Cierra up for baths & see if they stay up for awhile. I want to weigh everyone but not sure if I can manage that yet.

So it will be mid November before I can start physio and am able to weight bear on the boot. It seems we can't transfer physio requests from one hospital to another and seeing as the hospital where I had the surgery is 45 min drive away, that's not possible. So I guess I'm going to have to put some $ away to see my physio, luckily have extended health & get 95% of the cost back.

I also talked to Eric and told him that my $ is going to reduce hugely in Nov, so may not have any Xmas $ for the kids. He wasn't concerned at all, which was a great relief. I'll figure it out on Friday when I get paid.

Gus - he’s a rescue!
How much water should I be giving my bearded dragon? He will only drink from a dropper when I drop on his nose and I’m not sure if I should give it to him until he won’t drink anymore? Or should I stop after he’s had a certain amount?
Just want to check that if my beardie is ok I managed to get a video of him yawning today and screenshot him with his mouth open does he have mouth rot??? He is eating and drinking normally btw, the discoloration on his left of the mouth has been there for a month but the discoloration on his right side is new
