We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Congrats on the lights and timers! That's quite an accomplishment. If you want to pm me your email, I'd be happy to send pictures on my phone. I know how to do that.

And they were all on this am, so I did it right! Now to find somewhere I can get smaller ones, as I have to get separate ones for Leo and the ramp, but that can wait as Todd doesn't have the lights yet.

So the site for the lower wattage converter that Jolene sent me only takes VISA & I don't have one. So I sent them a message to see if I could pay it by money order up front, including the cheapest shipping ($16) so hopefully they're good with that & I'll have the converter I need for the ramp. Leo is going to be conncected to Didi's converter. Now to get the last two lights, plus the extension cord I need for Didi, as that is available at Walmart. I also need 1 more timer and they were ordering them in at Walmart so I"ll be checking today to see if they got them in. They're cheaper than Lowes. So far these lights are doing well and my crew are all getting under them and staying warm. Makes me feel good that I finally got this all sorted with Todd's help!

Congrats Deb, awesome that you got them all running perfectly. I know that was quite a job but YOU DID IT! :p Did you see any of them looking up at the MVB's this morning? Loki & Angie both did when I first got them, kinda like "hey, where's the great heat & light coming from" LOL. How are their basking temps running?

Hope that place will take a money order, don't see why they wouldn't.

Great that you got your car serviced and got a break on it too. :D

How are you feeling? Hope at least the tiredness has improved.

Hi Diane,

I felt very proud of myself for getting everything running, of course it was Todd who told me what to get & how to connect everything! Now to get a different extension cord so eventually Leo will be on the same converter as Didi, the ramp will be on it's own converter & power bar. I'm just waiting for Todd to let me know when the next lights come in so I can order two & hear from the place for the converter. Amazon.ca doesn't have less than 500W converters, so will check with Todd to see if I can get a 100W to run one light. Then I'm done, just replacement lights.

They like the 80W, the 100W were always too hot for them. I keep the heat on in the winter into the living room for the geckos, so the beardies don't ever need more than 80W. They're nice and warm & really are starting to enjoy the strange new lights. They now find the 100W under the ramp too high! Funny how that works. Digestion is good as their poops are great! So I'm very happy all the way around. Now I have the lights going from 6:30a to 4:30p as it's getting very hot over here. Reached 90F today, was so glad to get to my mom's after my brother did the oil change. Swam for an hour, then talked to my mom for awhile & got home. Bought farm fresh blueberries, have to get them in the fridge & I'm off again to return some things to Lowes & see if the timer is in at Walmart. Then I"m home for the night!

I'm so pleased. I called the Canadian converter company and they agreed to have me pay for the 200W converter by paypal. I sent all my info into them & they'll send me the email address so I can send the $ through. I'm so stoked, that's the last one I needed for the ramp; now I'm just waiting to hear from Todd that the last 2 lights are in & Leo will finally have a good light. So far they all love their new lights, I'm so pleased!

That's great Deb that they will let you use Paypal. :p So happy to hear that they're loving their lights. I knew they would.

That's great, Deb! Cissy had some electrical stimulation on her neck this morning. Anxious to see if it has done any good. I've been so busy getting a laminate floor, molding, etc. in my bedroom before my son comes home. All my bedroom furniture is in his room. Can't get 3 inches in the door...No eggs from Maisy yet.

The kids are all enjoying their new Arcadia lights, can't wait until Leo get his, Diane, should be mid August. I just sent the model# to the manufacturers of the converters, they're in Florida & they're going to set up the Paypal pmt for me. I would imagine the shipping is going to be alot, but still, they're the only company that will ship to Canada with 200W converters.

Hi Esther, boy you are a busy woman this summer, good luck with all that! I'm so glad Cissy got another good treatment, hopefully it helps get that nerve unpinched for her. Prayers sent! And I'll be looking forward to hearing that Maisy is finally laying her eggs.

So I've been taking some photos with my new camera and I must say, the close ups sure come out clearer:

Here's my sweet Lonzo showing off his blood red eyes:

Gabriel always makes me laugh, he's lounging on my fake cat, if you press against it's back it purrs. He seemed to like that  Cat massage

And here he is pouting that I wouldn't let him out, he can't seem to figure out that there are other dragons in the house that get their turn, too!

You can see how big Puff has gotten. She still weighs less than when she moved in, but I'm cutting back her supers. Even with the weight gain, her fat pads are still inverted, strange that.

She like to move her pillow around, here she thinks it makes a great butt support

Leo gets around his tank all day, here he is at the end of his log:

And here his is on top if his hide, he likes it up there alot:

Didi enjoying his new Arcadia light, you can see that the side of his mouth is healing up but I don't think scales will ever grow on that side.

And here he is playing "I'm the boss of the ramp" Gabriel thinks he's the boss, too

Here's the picture of Puff after jumping into Gabriel's bath. Gabriel completely ignored her, which surprised me. I thought he'd jump right on her. Guess the romance is over

Gabriel decided jumping into the supers bin was a good idea, he didn't eat any though...

That new camera takes excellent pictures, though I enjoyed the ones from the other camera, too. Are Lonzo's eyes always red? Gabriel and his cat...too funny! The holistic doc also gave me the name of a lady that is kind of an animal psychic that the doc is considering calling about her dog who has cancer. Evidently the lady can tell what the animal is thinking...even over the phone. Interesting...At this point I'd sure consider it to find out what my Cis is thinking. Are you making sure to get your rest?

It's the same model camera as the last one, Canon One Shot, just has a better zoom and sharper pictures. So I'm glad I got it, has alot of new fangled things I haven't even checked yet!

Yes, I'm trying to rest, I'm also trying to get used to the CPAP machine, it's very different. See the lady to get adjustments on Saturday, then take Leo and Didi to the vet.

Wonder what an animal psychic can manage over the phone, though, it's not as if Cis is going to make any kind of noise. But I'll bet she would say that Cis would like to get rid of that nerve problem. Does she cost alot?

That is the real colour of Lonzo's eyes, blood red mixed with white. I've never seen eyes like his before, most of my dragons have always had amber eyes. So he's definitely different. His colours have changed alot since he was a baby, he was brick red, now he's yellow with black spots. It's amazing how much their colours change as they age.

Gabriel always makes me laugh. The others have gone by the cat, but he's one of the first who's actually sat on the cat while I made it purr, it also does the nursing movements, too, as it purrs, and he seemed to like that

So what do you think of Puff, that her fat pads have always been like that? Sweetie's were always flat, but not caved in like that. Yet she seems so healthy, guess some dragons are like that. I'm used to the boys having them all filled in...

Let me know how the treatments are working for Cis, k? It would be lovely to know she's improving.

Hi Deb. I was surprised that Puff's head was so concave. She is perfectly healthy, though, so that greatly relieves my concern about Maisy's fat pads.

I can imagine the CPAP machine is difficult to get used to. I'm sure I should have one, but I know I couldn't tolerate it so I don't bother to pursue it. Good job for keeping up with it!

I haven't called the psychic pet lady yet, so I don't know how much it is. I'll keep you posted.

Saturday is coming!

I'm off today, still taking a vacation day a week until August, then it's back to full time. I have a friend working on my appeal letter, get it Sunday night or earlier if I can manage it, then print out the blood results and send it off. I doubt if it will work, but have to try. Wish me luck!

Yes, you have to try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Best of luck!
Darn, all the animals are taken care of now and I must get to work. I do so hate cutting molding!
Have a wonderful day!

She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
