We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Goodness gracious! Leo really needs to stop holding his water and aspirate himself. Guess you'll have to watch him like a hawk while he's in his bath to ensure that he doesn't end up drinking anything.

I have been, but he managed to get water in his mouth yesterday. I'll be glad to get him to the vet as he never used to do this, ever.

Hi Deb, your very welcome. I always get my pics at Wal-mart (I found it was cheaper than printing them at home, we have a little Epson photo printer but the ink is so expensive  ) .

Love the photos. Seeing Bunny makes me almost want a crestie (no, no... I can't have any more pets; 3 cats, 1 dog, 2 birds, a tank of fish and 6 beardies is plenty for a 3 bedroom house 8) ).

Shame on Leo making mommy scared. It's good that you know how to revive him. Thanks to you I know what to do if that ever happens with one of the crew (but I hope to never have to do it  )

Rubio likes to finger paint with poop :puke: . Miney loves to do this. Smears it all over the viv and himself. He was getting baths (with the toothbrush scrub) everyday for a while there. He's stopped for now. I guess he didn't like the scrubbing :p

Oops lunch is over...guess I better get back to work (3 High School Football Programs are sitting on my desk waiting for me to design them :banghead: )

Hi Sabrina, the pics were so cheap, 15 cents each, I make doubles and took 7 pics of baby Leo to work, so they can't be missed. I miss him so much, haven't heard from either Eric or Tara & he's already 2 wks old. I won't call them either, as they don't seem to want to hear from me...could be my imagination, but then again, after the last 1 1/2 yrs, it wouldn't surprise me. At least I see whatever is on her Facebook and can copy the photos, hopefully I see him soon!

Yes, I see what you mean, I've found that 6 beardies and 2 geckos in a 1 bedroom apartment are all I can manage. I find it great that your mom loves your beardies as much as you do!

Leo is going to the vet as soon as I have some $ to take him, meanwhile, he's only going to be in a bit of water when he gets his bath & not for long. I can't figure out what's wrong with him, but am grateful that I can revive him. Learned that lesson from Lonzo in 2010 when a virus went through & upset their tummies. Lost Issy that way but was able to save Lonzo & that's how I learned dragon CPR.

Luckily Rubio doesn't do this often, he hates being smelly until I get home at night, as sometimes I don't notice (he likes to poop under his big log & I don't always catch it there), he was sure glad I caught it this time. He's normally good about it and poops long before I go to work and normally doesn't get his tail in it, oh well, at least I caught it and there was a later bus I could take to work!

Will be looking forward to your next update of your crew, too!

Oh dear Deb, sorry to hear that Leo held water in his mouth again and you had to get his breathing again. Wonder why he takes in so much water like that? Hope the vet can figure it out so that it stops happening. How scary for you!

Leave it to Rubio getting covered with poop. What a morning you had!

Hope things will go more smoothly for you.

Lindz, how are you? I've missed you all. Hope all is ok. And yes, I'm a grandma! Leo is now 2 weeks old, haven't seen him since he went home with his parents, but hope to soon.

Diane, I have no idea why he's doing this, he's never done this before, so it's a mystery. It's like he's so thirsty, but as soon as he drinks he just stops swallowing and then the water trickles into his lungs and he stops breathing. So I think I'm just going to try to put him in the bathtub, see if he swims, then he might not bother with drinking. Otherwise, it's no more baths and try to get him to drink it by syringe. He is a mystery :banghead:

I had a great day at my folks today, even my niece, her boyfriend and my cousin's daughter & her husband were there. We all had a great time. An old friend of my folks, who have known each other since I was in Grade 1, was there! So the kids and I all had fun in the pool, we all got caught up on each other, my brother David did the bbqing, ice cream cake for dessert. Cole got lots of presents (mostly $), loved the cards we gave him, it was a great time. Then my girlfriend Adrienne called me there (she lives close by) and we went out for the evening, so it was a long day, with physio at 9a, got bugs at 10a, chiro at 11:30, then my mom's until 8p, then out until 10:30 & home. Tomorrow another friend is taking me to our big Vancouver Fair, called the PNE, for the afternoon, then food shopping and feeding the geckos. Then a 6 day week at work. Next Saturday night and Sunday I won't be doing anyting but food shopping and gym on Sunday, that's it!!!!!!

So my sister bought my dad a Kobo, but he didn't want to use it anymore, so she gave it to me as my birthday present. I can load up books from the library, which is awesome and I've been wanting one for years. So it's charging up & I'll be all set up to take it back & forth to work, so much easier than finding paperbacks! I'm so excited and feel so lucky! I was going to try to save up for one at Xmas, now I don't have to!

So I'm off to bed, busy day tomorrow, have to get my boys up early to take care of feeding them b4 I set off for the afternoon.

My sis told me what to do, so it's charging right now. Once that's done, I have to charge up the light that goes with it. Then I start loading up books from the library. I have instructions for that but if I have an issue, I'll let you know. Thanks|!

And yes, I had a long day but it was a great day!

I feel very lucky as I've wanted a Kobo for ages. I just have to figure out how it works! So far, haven't figured anything out, but not sure if I did the wrong thing charging it and it will only work connected to my computer, will have to look up the instructions when I have a minute, no rush, though.

Hi Barbara, isn't he just the cutest? I sent an email to Eric last night, hopefully I'll hear from him at some point. Don't know what it is about me and my side of the family that he just doesn't like, but hopefully I'll be invited over at some point. I'm hoping he get around to inviting my mom and dad soon, too. And my sis and b-I-l; they gave them a huge amount of $, don't even know if they got a thank you card, never mind a visit.

How's the job going? and your family and crew? Hope all is well at your end.

Glad you popped in, I have some pics of my boys that I'll get on there at some point.

Love you too,
Deb
