We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

It's a lot of work, Liz, but so worth it, no matter how much we complain  Seriously I just can't see my life without Eric. He was the love of my life for a long time, even if he is with a weirdo, he's still the best thing I ever did!

So I got a call this am from the nurse at the hospital saying if I could make it in today I could get my MRI done. So called work & switched my vacation day & got it done this afternoon. Will have the results before or by the end of the month, finally I'll know what's wrong with my left ankle!!!!!!! I will let you all know when I see my doc to get the results, can't wait!

I hope it whatever od wrong with your ankle is a quick and painless fix!

Kids scare me - no lie. It's why I have reptile babies instead.

I never wanted children, it's only been while I've been with Brandon that I've thought of them. But I agree-they are lots of work and it is scary! One day, but for now I'm happy with the fur and scale babies.

Furry and scaley babies are much easier to handle than a human baby. They all do the same things, except the noise of human babies, but so much easier to deal with. I wouldn't give up my son for anything and I could have, being a single parents & working f/t & being away from your family, is not an easy thing, as Holly will agree, but so worth it to watch them grow.

You have to have children when you're emotionally and financially ready, even though it's not always that easy. Either way, when you do have kids, just love them, discipline them with love & as Roger said "if you say it, mean it". That seemed to work with Eric. Too bad they grow up so fast & become adults

So I took a few pictures:

Gabriel and Leo were waiting for baths and I thought "awww they're really getting along"

Then Gabriel decided being on top of Leo was better

Guess Titan felt that having a rest this way was more comfy:

And finally a good picture of Bunny, waiting for more crickets:

I somehow lost this post somewhere.

'GIVE ME MORE, TALL SMOOTH CREATURE. I WANT MORE CRICKETS!'

I love little Bunny!

And I wouldn't dream of having a child when we're not financially ready, though I always hear you're never emotionally ready for a baby. That's what Mom has always told me, and I trust her. 3 kids, all at least 8 years apart(brother is 38, sister is 30 and I'm almost 21). Dad either worked on the Oil rigs, or worked on the graveyard shift until I was born. Then they started their siding business, while he was working graveyard, and when I turned 11 he quit working at the mill, instead focused on doing their business full time. So Mom in a lot of ways raised us all on her own, up until I could cook noodles on the stove.

Now Dad is back on the rigs in the winter(and my environment loving brother is going to do it now as well??), and they're siding in the summer until Dad can secure full time work in the summer next year.

I love Gabriel! 'I can sit on his back and I'm the peace keeper so he'll deal with it!'

She's on the hunt, there was one left from what I gave her, she always looks like that when there are crickets to hunt and eat. She gets more tonight.

I took out her substrate and she loves it, can see the crickets better and it's a lot easier for me to clean up. she's happy as long as she has her tub, her cave, her stick and her leaves to sleep behind. Rocco doesn't have substrate either, he's also happy not to have it. I used coco fibre & hated it. They don't seem to mind not having it in their hides, either, so I'm just leaving it that way, spray everything twice a day and they seem healthy and happy. I also think that Rocco is a girl, but it's so hard to tell with him/her!

Jolene, you're so right, you're never ready emotionally to have a child. The emotions are so overwhelming that you'd do anything for your baby. When the time feels right, you'll feel better having one, if you decide to. My mom had 4 kids, my dad travelled a lot, worked night shifts until I was about 6 yrs old, then got into sales, so Mom was home and raised us all, we had Dad home in the evenings, though, plus spend all our weekends together. So it was a joint effort. They did great, just like your folks did, Jolene, we all turned out to be hard working and raised our kids the same way we were raised. Now it's fun to be a grandma & auntie. I talked to Eric for a bit this morning, he sounded awful, hopefully he's taking my advice and napping when Leo is asleep, otherwise he'll get sick. But can't tell him anything, he's an adult, after all  Or so he says

LOL!
My little girl was a surprise! I didn't have very much money and I sure didn't think I'd be thinking of nursery themes in 9 months time, but...Surprise! She was the most wonderful unexpected gift I've ever received. An early Christmas gift. Even when you're not ready, you get ready! I would obviously recommend being settled (I did have my own house) but if nature decides to throw you a curve ball, you take it and run! Love really does conquer all
I LOVE that photo of bunny! It's so nice to see her bright eyed and very alert. Look at Leo's colors! Wow! The camera was really bringing out the best! What a cheeky monkey Gabriel was being, using his poor brother as a pillow! Aw, Titan has grown so much. What a sweet dear boy. I couldn't lay that way, but glad he's comfy

 What did Leo do when Gabriel sat on him?? Were you scared that they'd start a fight?

No, Gabriel really doesn't fight & either does Leo much, so I just put Gabriel back & continued filling the sinks. Only Didi is the fighter and no other beardie is allowed to get near him. The rest are pretty well laid back. Titan is afraid of Rubio, I think just because of his size, so if Rubio is out on the balcony I don't put Titan on the ramp, I did that once & pow!!! he jumped off that ramp so fast & tried to hide underneath some wooden carvings I have against the credenza Leo's tank is on. I've never seen a beardie move so fast & it took me a minute to figure it out. Meanwhile Rubio couldn't even see him!

Aww I love your boys' antics :) :love5:
And poor Titan. I think if I was smaller than a bearded dragon, I'd hide too! I'm sure beardies are pretty intimidating looking from any smaller critter's perspective, not just a fellow beardie's. Especially with all those spikes.

Titan isn't even that small anymore, he's 18 1/2" long and I'm sure over 500 grams, but I guess that doesn't compare to Rubio, he's over 800g, so I make sure if Rubio's out, Lonzo's out in the living room, nothing phases Lonzo, he's my security chief, even at 10 yrs old

So Rocco actually let me pet his back tonight, but then I had the cricket keeper in my other hand  Guess he was glad to see me! I can hear them both hunting their crickets, busy, busy, busy

I was so hoping to hear from Eric today, but no such luck. I sure miss my grandbaby. I was also hoping to see more pics of Tara's facebook but nothing new.

So Sabrina, I wanted to thank you, checked with the Photo Lab at Walmart & they'll sure do the pictures, in 1 hr, so I'll send what I want done tonight and pick them up on the weekend. Then I'll have pics to take to work and give to my family. Thanks again, never thought I could do that!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
