We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Thanks so much for checking out my thread! Your baby is so colourful! Do you have a thread on here, if you do, send me the link so I can check it out.

I checked & no pics, so sent Eric an email telling him I just keep checking, he's probably overwhelmed with Leo, Tara and not getting enough sleep. Her birthday is tomorrow, so I'm sure they'll be having her family over. But oh, well, have to work tomorrow.

And Liz, yes, he gave me another dirty look tonight when I carried him to his tank. "What going on Mom, I don't sleep here, I sleepz on the RAMP!" but once he's covered up, he's asleep for the night, then I'm black bearded EVERY morning, especially if it takes some time before he's let out again. He's such a hoot

So I got more pics from Eric this evening, here are 2 that I've been waiting for:

Myself and Leo, day 1:

My sis Gail and her hubby Ian, day 2: Both pics were taken at the hospital:

They looked much bigger on my email, but still visible, right?

Hi Deb.

I'm glad you finally got the pics Eric has been promising you. I like those pics. If the pics are on your computer, I suggest that you get something where you can save what's on the hard drive of your computer at an off-site place in case your hard drive or computer crashes and dies, then you will still have your pics available. You might want to print them all out so you will have them. Those are pics that can never be replace and will always be precious to you.

Thanks Lori and Esther, I'm very pleased. There's a pic of me & Eric & Leo that he sent to my s-I-l and she's going to send it to me. I asked Eric for a few pics of Leo when he was first born & Lori, I am planning to get them printed. I'd print them from my compuer but ran out of ink, but seems I can download them to Walmart & pick them up to pay for them, so I'm going to check out their photo lab. I'll let you know.

Thanks Liz.

So I was a bit put out. I found pics of Leo and Aunt Peggy on Tara's facebook, yet they told me they didn't want visitors for at least a month. I was actually jealous but then I saw him in the hospital and her side, except for Mom, Grandma an Dad didn't go to the hospital, so I'm hoping I'll see him soon. I have to keep repeating to myself "He's their baby, not your baby"

Otherwise it's a very quiet morning, it's overcast but think the sun will come out. Doing wash, shower next, then the boys get fed t heir veggies and collard greens today, only Titan gets a bath, they all got baths yesterday.

So Rubio was on the balcony yesterday and passed wind (boy did he ever, I heard that in the living room  ) and then just a urate, no poop; is that normal? I've never seen that br. So I think he'll get a bath today, too, just in case.

You have a right to feel put out Deb. You shouldn't have had to copy Leo's photo's from facebook. They should have been handed to you with a ribbon! :angry5: Still, it's a long life and Tara will mature. (not because I have faith in her, but I figure it's the law of averages :laughing6: ) Eric will mature further and Leo will grow to make his own decisions. Time, patients , love, more time. Sooner or later, the pieces will all fit. It's a long life and I have faith in the ties that bind

Hi Holly, I'm hoping that is true. I raised Eric on my own with no support for 4 years before I moved out here, working full-time, it was the hardest thing I've ever done, I missed my family so much. It was a relief to move out here and have them all in my life again (we kept in touch, but I missed them all) so I guess that's why I feel miffed that I'm not over there more often. So I'm hoping to see him one of these weekends, meanwhile I keep myself busy and check Tara's facebook daily for more pictures

Next Saturday is a big birthday bash at my folk's; lunch, swimming and celebrating Cole's 13th birthday (my oldest nephew) and my brother Richard's birthday, too. His was the end of July, but didn't see him for long. So it will be a lot of fun. I invited Eric over, but I think he's just too sleep deprived to be ready to get out of the house...Richard talked to him and said he didn't make a lot of sense. I keep telling him to sleep when the baby's sleeping, it's the only time he'll ever get sleep when Leo is this young, as we both know, right?

LOL! Big time! I also raised my little one for a time, before my husband. 4 or so years, in fact  I worked 3 rotating shifts and came home to a little girl who had issues sleeping at the best of times (thanks to enlarged tonsils  ) She woke up every 3 hours until she was 4 years old! There were someday's I didn't even know my own name! Tell Eric he's lucky to get the sleep he does and to take advantage of every opportunity! You never know how big those darn tonsils are gonna get!
Enjoy your the bash Deb! :D
