Nathaniel, Cierra, Castiel, Freya, Grrl; RIP GABRIEL

We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

My, he's growing quickly. So adorable! His feet are big, but remember they are closer to the camera, so that will make them look bigger than they really are proportionately. What a sweetie pie!

All I have to say to Liz's post is: Keegan had massive feet and was almost 10lbs at birth. He's 4 tomorrow and has bee. Considered the average size of a healthy 5 year old in the last 6 months!

I measured his feet at birth & they were 2" or more in length, the same as his dad, who's feed stopped growing when he hit size 12 shoe! So he's going to have big feet and hands, just like his dad. It's hard to figure, Eric is almost 6' tall and 170lbs, very muscular (he ran track in school) and now works in concrete construction, plus runs their terrier Bella, daily. I'm just hopeful he'll never had the back problem his mom does!

I was supposed to get pictures, but they haven't come yet, so hopefully today.

Except for one wound on my right hand, I'm fine. Had no extra pain yesterday but sure slept well, didn't wake up until 10 am! I've never slept in that much. And none of the dragons, except Lonzo were awake, so late start this am.

I'm fine Esther, no pain yesterday. One of the cuts on the top of my hand is bandaged with lots of polysporin, but otherwise, everything is healing, so I'll be back to work tomorrow.

Still no pics from Eric, hopefully by the end of the day.

So here are the pics I promised last night. Had to give everyone a bath & their cal/vit. So all done, Sun is in and out so Rubio is out on the balcony. Didi is inside on the ramp, behaving himself, so far anyway.

Titan decided to get into his hide and poke his head out, he slept in his hide last night and I had to remove him this morning!

The garden outside of Cami's office, I planted some impatients, you can see one pink one, but they're not growing as well as on my balcony. But even so, this is the memorial garden for my girls and all the other lost beardies, especially Diane's.


I'll have to get a better picture of Bunny, tonight when I take her out of her tank:


But I did get a good one of Rocco in one of his favourite spots, on the pot of his ficus tree:

Gabriel was sleeping on my shoulder, then decided my pillow was softer!


As you can see, he really was asleep!


My balcony garden:
Lavender, I cut it down by about a foot, it was so tall and gangly, made a great bath oil:


My rosemary, it's about 5 yrs old & just got a big huge ceramic pot


The basil I got at superstore for $3.95. It's doing really well since I repotted it


The marigold that Eric & Tara gave me for mother's day, it's been doing great since I repotted it


The other flower that was with the marigold, it's now recovering being in it's own pot, not sure what it's called but has pretty pink/lavender flowers

The pot they were in didn't have any drainage & took me awhile to repot into clay pots.

The cedar tree that Eric gave me for Xmas a few years ago, it was 8" then, and has been repotted twice. It's now over 2' tall & 1/2 foot wide. I just love it, it's leaves are like silk. It's supposed to be a dwarf, have no idea how bit it will get, it grows very slowly:


And the impatiens finally repotted into planters so are doing much better. Rubio still eats a plant here and there. Have to get Gabriel out so he can have a plant, too! They're actually bright pink, but the colour didn't come out very well.


My African violets that a friend gave me. I have the right soil to repot them in, just haven't found the time to do it, hopefully tonight, then they'll do much better


So that's my boys and my garden. Still haven't gotten the pics Eric promised me, don't know when that will happen. Gotta go, Didi has decided to take on Rubio through the mesh, time to move Didi back to his tank!

Thanks Ester and Jolene. They do seem to enjoy the set up here and Didi is sitting on top of the ramp like a good boy! Rubio's back in his tank after getting an hour of sunshine & fighting Didi through the mesh, then having a few bites of the impatients. I'm done my shopping and on my way to Jolene's in about 15 min, just need to put my shopping away. Was checking in to see if any pics of baby Leo as promised but nothing yet.
