Nathaniel, Cierra, Castiel, Freya, Grrl; RIP GABRIEL

We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

And you can. Well I guess all my muttering and complaining worked because I got a Facebook message from Tara apologizing that her computer was on the fritz & her cousin fixed it today so we'd be getting all the pics tomorrow. I still think she's off, but I guess I can live with that!

Good! I don't like she blamed her computer(would it hurt to apologize for being a witch?), but I'm glad she at least apologized and gave SOME sort of reason for not emailing things out.

Didi is blackbearding me from his tank because he woke up there, he normally wakes up on the ramp, but no more of that. So I'm going to let him out while I'm home, but if he disappears, he'll be in his tank permanently for awhile. I'll give you an update.

Sabrina, he is in the tank of doom, because Gabriel is on the ramp & it's cold & overcast outside (relief after all the hot weather) so no-one's going out on the balcony.

I'm hoping Tara told the truth & they're getting it all loaded up, it'll be great to have pics to choose from, he is a beautiful boy. Hopefully not too long until I see him again.

I hope you get more pics soon! He's so adorable and definitely growing every day! Those pictures are almost too much!! Reminds me that my "baby" is 4 on Monday, which is great but...seeing your grandson so little makes me miss those days. They certainly don't last long enough. Hope you get to see him again soon!

We are going out riding our quads today so I'll check here when I get back for updates on new pics. Your grandson Leo is so adorable! I sure enjoy looking at his pics.

:laughhard: at Didi :laughhard: He must think he's had you :whip: and that's why he's p-o'd that he is in his tank. I'm sure you told him why he's in his tank instead of the ramp but, as a beardie son, he doesn't like that reason.

When Rosie was first with us for the first year or so she fought me getting her leash on so we could take her outside for sun. I got tired of fighting with putting her leash on and I told her if she doesn't let me put her leash on she would go back into her tank. It worked with her and she doesn't fight me any more when we put her leash on. She's always liked outside, Squirt will put up with outside but I don't think she likes it as much as Rosie does.

Thanks Kristine and Lori, I think Leo is just the most beautiful baby. According to my son, he's always hungry, but once his tummy is full he'll sleep 4-6 hours, which is incredible for a week old baby. So I told him he and Tara really have to rest while he's sleeping so they'll both feel better, hopefully they listen to reason, I had to do the same thing, nap when baby naps.

And Kristine, I so agree, babyhood is so fleeting. Eric will be 30 this year, I've told him b4 that he's just too old for me! It's funny to think I'm a grandma, but even funnier to think my sister and two brothers are great aunt and uncles, too. We're all getting together (minus Eric, Tara and Leo) next Saturday at my mom's for lunch and swimming, as it's my nephew Cole's 13th birthday, so he's the first teenager of the 2nd generation of grandkids. My son is the oldest and my sis's daughter Tehya is 26, then Cole (13), Emily (11), Carly (9)and Ryder (7) were born, my brothers kids. So it is like having 2 generations of nieces and nephews, great fun for all of us.

I haven't seen pics yet, but hoping to by tonight. Then there will be pics on here asap.

Human babies sure grow up fast, don't they? Seems like it's hard & you run into many challenges when they're young but the years go SO fast. Leo is just so adorable, love seeing his adorable face.

Beardie babies sure grow up fast too. Worrisome & scary when they're so little but before you know it, they're a yr old! Of course, none of us get any older. :lol:

Hopefully Didi will behave himself the next time he is out and stay right in plain sight. The idea about the bright colored yarn should help.

Hi Diane,

I had a message from Eric when I got in just now and he said he was working on emailing the pictures, but not sure if he sent them on their Facebooks, as they're not in the email so will check there. If not, it's just taking a long time to load them on, so will see later. At least I heard from him, he got my email, said all is good, said he loved me and would call soon. So that's all good. As soon as I get the pics I'll load some on photobucket and post them, because he is truly adorable, Leo, not Eric :lol:

And yes, time goes so fast, I remember so well when Eric was little and we had such a great time together, then he grew up, seems overnight, and was an "adult".

Beardies, too, Rubio, who was 3 mo old when I got him, is now 5 yrs old! Titan has just turned one yrs old, and he's now getting really big, time just flies by & the older we get the faster time flies!

I'm feeling fine, I'm still putting hydrogen peroxide on one of my cuts as it was the deepest, the others are superficial and almost gone. The swelling in my hand is gone and it doesn't hurt to type either.

My knee is a bit swollen in one spot but not on the kneecap (thank goodness) & doesn't hurt at all. So healing up really well. I still have a bruise on the nail on my left ring finger, but it doesn't hurt anymore either, so I'm good to go back to work on Monday.

I have some pics of the boys, will get my supper 1st and post them.

Didi was asleep beside my rocking chair, in plain site, when I got home, but he's still sleeping in his tank every night now and he's in his tank in the am to warm up and to let the others get on the ramp. I'll see how he does on Monday, that will decide if he stays out or if he stays in his tank while I'm at work. If I can't find him again, he's out of luck and in his tank for the day :mrgreen: I'm such a mean mommy, but he scared me silly when I got home on Friday

When I was telling him earlier that he had to stay where I could find him he was doing that head tilt from side to side as if he understood every word and he was where I could find him when he got home, but he's still on probation! And I agree, Lori, hard as it seems, they have to be disciplined, it's just the others never need to be ! Only Didi :lol:
