We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Well at least I'm keeping you busy Matt  Yes, I'm grateful that he's eating, he also did a huge poop again this am, no smell, so I'm hopeful the Baytril did the trick and he doesn't need any more meds. He ate about 20 crickets and another 40 roaches today...mama mia, I'm not going to have any more bugs left! So more crickets this weekend for the week. The only thing he didn't eat was the 4 med supers I had in with the roaches, picked out all the roaches, though! So we'll see if he changes his mind about the supers on the weekend.

This is how he was sleeping when I got home, how in the world is this comfortable? After I took the pic I put him on his basking spot and covered him up!

Gave everyone a little snuggle this am, they get annoyed when they don't each get sufficient cuddles from me. What a juggling act, though

And a bit more of that awful grey stuff came off the top of his head again, seems each time he soaks it comes off & it's time to put more polysporin on, too, that helps it loosen up, too. I'm hoping before too long he'll have a regular coloured head!

I'm glad his head is healing up, it already looks a lot better.

Thanks Julie and Amy, isn't that just the funniest picture? I think he fell asleep stanking up and then kind of folded sideways  So you think his head is looking better Julie? I'm so glad to hear that!

Wild dragons burrow in the earth to sleep, the adults I mean. But the babies must get up to strange positions as they sleep in bushes. I've never seen a pic of a wild beardie sleeping, but it must be cool to see.

This is something I've always wondered about. How on earth to wild BD's survive!?!?!? I swear to you they're like Parakeets! Turn off the light and nighty night Bearded babes. It makes no sense! LOL! I love that pic. Titan is always a joy to see, I will go to my grave knowing I'll never fully understand these incredible animals 8)

Me, too, Holly! They just fascinate me all the time. They're all just warning up right now, it's going to be a hot day, so I'll be opening up the balcony so they can sit in the sun. Titan got about an hour's sun, he just loved it! I'm off to my brother's after lunch, so won't be here for the afternoon, but tomorrow is a better day. So I'm off to start the sunshine basking!

I can't believe how much Titan is eating, he's gained 8 grams in the last 4 days! He's eating almost adult sized roaches, munches them all down, takes his time and they fill him up better than the little ones. I also gave him a couple of small males, & they're gone too. That's on top of eating up most all the crickets I had left  It's great to see his appetite back. He won't eat supers yet, but that will probably change.

It's so hot here today, in the mid 80s, so they all got sun this am and I also just shut off their lights, now the living room is cooling down a bit. I'm off to my brother's, but will put the lights back on for awhile when I get home, if they are still awake. I'm going to leave Titan's on though as he's still munching on roaches.

So here are a couple of weird sleeping positions I found when I got home last night from my brother's. I was a bit later than usual, got home after 8P:

So here's Gabriel giving me the stink eye "How dare youse wakes me woman?" How else do I take the pics? this was taken without a flash to hopefully not wake him up
And Rubio, again stink eyes:

and top view:

Titan tried to fight Didi this am. I had Didi on my knee and this is what I saw. I didn't get the full effect, he's started unpuffing when I took the pic.

And then Titan ran away, up the ramp "Nanana, I'ze on top of the ramp":  Luckily Didi was still on my knee!

So that's adventures for this am, I'm going to gym soon, then a bit of cricket shopping & back to stay. I'm tired and I can't wait to have an afternoon nap. It's very hot out and it's only noon!

Good morning, Deb

So, Titan's not used to sharing mom with Didi? He seemed to realize that Didi thinks the ramp is his alone and went to show him he could use it also. :laughhard:

Our girls wake up (especially Squirt) when the lights are turned on to take a picture just like you boys do. I have a funny story I will post in my thread soon about trying to put Squirt into her hide box last night. She gave me a stink eye for trying.

Hi Lori, I'll visit later. Titan is so funny, first he blackbeards & puffs up at Didi, when I put him back in his hide, he started arm waving, guess it depends on proximity. So I've decided that Titan can keep Didi's tank and Didi will get a new tank. I think he'll also get the new hide, but his old basking rock, which is on the floor of the living room. And Titan will keep the tank the way it is, that way I don't have to clean up all the furniture. There is a small rock that he can keep and the big rock will be Didi's again after a good wash in the dishwasher. The same with the beehive, even though Titan just loves that think. I my see if I can find another one similar for Didi. I'll see when the lights come in. I may also put Didi on the dining room table, he's on the ramp for most of his day, so that may not make a difference. I'm still not sure, but I'll definitely think about it & decide before the lights come in, probably in a week or so. They're at the US box of my friends, but he's got a bad back & hasn't been able to get there, so hopefully next week.

I know, isn't it so darned hot, it's 82F in my apartment & fan is on in the bedroom, all lights are off, as the poor dears were melting. So what happened to spring, we've jumped into summer again  Strange weather.

Thanks Liz, he just looked so comfy & it's the first time he's gotten on that log that's now on the cool side. He's now using all of his tank, which is nice to see!

Gus - he’s a rescue!
How much water should I be giving my bearded dragon? He will only drink from a dropper when I drop on his nose and I’m not sure if I should give it to him until he won’t drink anymore? Or should I stop after he’s had a certain amount?
Just want to check that if my beardie is ok I managed to get a video of him yawning today and screenshot him with his mouth open does he have mouth rot??? He is eating and drinking normally btw, the discoloration on his left of the mouth has been there for a month but the discoloration on his right side is new
