Nasal discharge

Please help me understand the problem with nasal discharge.
Foxy was in brumation for a couple of months. I think it was semi-brumation, because he did not sleep deeply, but was just in his cave and during the day he dozed a little and watched us from his shelter for a while.
His heat light was on from 8am to 4pm, and the UVB from 9am to 2pm.
Nighttime temperatures never dropped below 72 degrees.
Humidity fluctuates between 20 and 35 percent (nighttime - 20, daytime - 35)
In 2 brumation months, Foxy almost did not lose weight (from 540 grams, his weight decreased to 530).
In the last week of brumation, when I weighed him, I noticed small clear bubbles in the lower part of his nostrils (both nostrils, right and left). They were small and I thought that they could be the remains of the water he drank. The next day they were gone, but a day later they appeared again. Sometimes they thickened and looked a little yellowish, but it was all in the lower part of the nostril and did not interfere with his breathing.
At the same time, he began to wake up and in the morning comes to warm up under the heating lamp. I increased the daylight hours and now it is 12 hours of heating light (from 8am to 8pm) and 8 hours of UVB (from 9am to 5pm). After I noticed that there was discharge from the nose, I began to turn on Arkadia DHP at night to maintain the temperature at least 80 degrees and now in the morning he only has a small crust on the nostril on the right (the left nostril looks normal and there has been no discharge for 3 days).
His breathing is even, I do not hear any coughing, clicking or whistling.
Tell me, is a visit to the vet required? It's very cold here right now and I wouldn't want to put him through any extra stress unless it's absolutely necessary.

Now he ate a couple of hornworms and started basking right after that and gaping. I got a chance to take a photo of his mouth.
There is some saliva there, possibly because he ate worms 10 minutes earlier.

That is a great close up picture of him. I've never encountered nasal discharge personally.
@Drache613 is probably the best person to ask. Maybe dm her with the picture.
It sounds to me like you've taken all the proper steps. I sincerely hope it turns out to be nothing at all 🙂

This morning Foxy's nose looked better. Both nostrils were dry. But after lunch I noticed a small bubble sparkling in the right nostril, it wouldn't be visible in the photo without a special macro attachment, so I didn't take any photos, it's very small. Today Foxy went for a walk for the first time since brumation, he warmed up under the mvb lamp, ate two roaches, one hornworm and a piece of pakchoi. After that he walked around the lamp, climbed his mountain, proudly bobbed his head and began to gape.

That's great 👍, sounds like he is done with brumation 🙂
Hopefully the discharge clears it's self up pretty quickly. Keep a close eye on it though. I have found out first hand how quickly they can go down hill.
If it persist I'd probably get him to a vet.

Yes, it seems that brumation is over.
Of course, I closely monitor Foxy's nose every day. So far I see improvements, I hope it was just a slight runny nose due to brumation. 🤞 I carefully examined his saliva at the moment of opening his mouth, when he was gaping.
The saliva is transparent as rock crystal. I read in a herpetology handbook that in the case of RI, the saliva becomes cloudy.

I've heard that also. Stringy is dehydration I think.

Hello,

I hope your dragon is still improving & not showing any other breathing issues. Be sure to update us &
feel free to post more pictures of him also!

Yes, Foxy is doing well. It definitely helped that I kept his night temperature at about 80 degrees. For several days now, his nose has been clear in the mornings and there are no signs of difficulty breathing (but there were none before). As soon as his nose became clear, he realized that he urgently needed to do his "spring business"! Now he asks to be let out for a walk every morning. He has his own space in the living room near the Christmas tree, there is his soft house, a mvb lamp and an area that he carefully monitors. He climbs on his house, bobs his head, stamps his feet and shows that he is the boss here. Periodically, he gets down from the mountain and walks around the area to check for rivals. But just in case, I keep his night temperature slightly higher than usual and tomorrow an order with colloidal silver will arrive, I plan to give it for some time for preventive purposes.

Hello,

Great, Foxy looks terrific & very happy there! It sounds like he is feeling more himself. The extra
night time warmth must have boosted him enough to help fight any possible infection that was going
on.
It's a great sign he is basking & active too! So he likes his basking area around the Christmas tree?
I think he's really enjoying his mountain & new domain!

Thank you for your support!
Yes, he loves his home outside the terrarium. This house is his gift last Christmas, when he has spring fever, it is a real salvation for all of us.
He knows that he is the owner of this territory and he has an elevated area, so he spends most of his time there and it is easier for us to watch him while he is outside the terrarium. Apparently, the instinct to be on an elevated area plays a role here and we guessed his need for this.

Actually it does play a role. In the wild it serves a few needs. Basking, and like you describe watching for others to encroach on their territory and also to watch for predators. Giving them something to climb helps them feel normal in my opinion 🙂

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
Luna is thriving
