I was trimming my year old's nails today, and I accidentally nicked the quik. It stopped bleeding almost as soon as it happened, I sanitized her tank with cleaner designed for terrariums, gave her new substrate (half her tank is towels, the other half is unprinted newspaper), and applied neosporin (which is also safe for dogs, I use it on mine). I called the vet and she said I did everything right, and to come in if it looks infected. What is the chance of it getting infected, considering the circumstances and steps taken? I need to know so I can put money away for this vet trip.
It does sound like you took the correct steps. If the bleeding stopped right away it will likely be just fine. Just keep it clean and continue to apply the Neosporin. Just be sure to use plain Neosporin rather than the one with the pain relief additive.

Thank you so much! I worry about her, she's my pride and joy ;-; I ran out of neosporing so just cleaned it a few minutes ago and put Bacitracin on it. I cleaned it with just warm water, so soap, and it didnt bleed at all.
Whoops. Don't worry, these things happen. Make sure you have tasty treats for next time you clip her claws - she might not trust you! Also, try doing it on a windowsill - your dragon will be fascinated by the outdoors, and the clear light will make it easier for you to see through the claw.
