Is there any other way for my beardie's nails to be trimmed? I read and watched a video on how to trim the nails of a beardie and it looked like u only trim a few millimeters off the nails (the small black part on the tip, and avoid the one with the white part, is that right?). It seems really hard and I dont want to try it because I might make it bleed if I accidentally cut it.
Problem is, I really have to get it trimmed because yesterday, Chimi ran around and got on my girlfriends face and after a few minutes, she had scars on the right part of her face (i feel really sad because its partly my fault for not making sure Chimi's nails are trimmed). Is there any way to make Chimi's nails blunt? So that it cant cause wounds anymore.
While trimming and/or filing the nails is a good quick fix, you could also put a semi-rough textured tile(ex: slate) in their enclosures. This will help to keep the nails filed down. If you don't want to use tile as a substrate, then you could use a semi-rough rock or slab of rock for their basking spot. This is what I use and my beardie's nails are always filed down nicely.
