Hey guys,
Im still working on my babys tank but I just kind of wanted to share it right now.. If anyone has anything I should add in it PLEASE let me know, I have a heatrock off to the side because Ive heard its pointless for them but then again I heard they do need it so I am really not to sure on what to do with it..
Anyways (and again, still a work in progress) heres my tank how it is right now to this date.
I have a heatrock off to the side because Ive heard its pointless for them but then again I heard they do need it so I am really not to sure on what to do with it.
I'm not sure if I'm getting your question here, so if I'm not "getting it" feel free to ignore.
That said, the general consensus I've found is that beardies should NOT be provided heat rocks. It's not that it's "pointless" or "needed" so much as they are simply quite dangerous for them. Beardies sense heat from above, not below, and so, with a heatrock, they can easily stay on too long, not sensing the intensity of the heat, and become burned. If you plan to use it, I'd plan to do so WITHOUT the actual heat (unplugged), as an enclosure piece, but nothing more than that. Ah, one less energy sucker, right?
The best, and good luck with the rest of the enclosure!
