I don't have any children nor do I know when I will or if I will. All of my animals are my "babies" they are all spoiled way more than they should. I mean all my paycheck go to my rent or animals. I can't even remember the last thing I ever bought for myself. Yesterday, I got Blaze and Bones some hornworms, reptiworms, silkworms, and butterworms (from LindasGoneBuggie). The dogs get new toys and treats every week and the cat gets treats and toys. I work alot and I know buying stuff doesn't make up for lost time but I feel bad for leaving them in the morning. I wish I could work from home but I can't. So they settle for time 2 a week on my days off and lots of goodies from mommy.
Several years ago, during a federal election, here in Canada, I took my Izzie with us to go vote. Izzie was one of those dragons that tended to seek out attention. I had him tucked into my jacket (it was fall and a little cool out) and thought he would stay there as he was napping. Nope, soon after we got in the building, out popped his head. On elderly lady noticed and asked why we had a kitten in my coat. As soon as he realized people were looking at him, Izzie crawled out completely and went into his " too cute to resist" routine. All of the older people loved him, asked questions and several stroked his head and beard. It was the younger (male) crowd that talked crap about the "slimy lizard". In the end, we were asked to take him back outside, not because of his species but simply because a) no animals were allowed and b) we were causing a traffic jam.
As far as Izzie was concerned, he didn't care where he went. As long as he got a car ride out of the deal, he was a happy boy. God, I miss my cuddle-bug! Oscar is a good boy but not very into snuggling. He's still a "run and explore" 2yr old.
