In the front of the tank on the one side, I have a 150 watt basking heat light and right next to that dome I have a 150 watt day white light. Are they both ok to use, or should I only use the basking light.
What is more important? the heat temp under the basking light or the all around temp on the whole basking side of the tank.
If smawg stays in her hide house, she is not getting her uvb lighting. She stays in her hide house a lot.
The log in the back with the christmas sock on is under her uvb light.
The log in the front top corner is right under the basking light, The day white light is next to the basking light.
you`ll see her hide house between the basking log & the uvb log
They should be OK to use together. The important thing with the basking lights is the temperature. You'll want to get accurate readings right on the basking surface (100-110) and get some readings in the areas around that (90s) and then some readings on the surfaces on the cool side which should be in the 75-80 range during the day. By providing that gradient she'll move around and get what she needs. What do you have in place for UVB?
