Hi all, I've have Gryffin about 2 weeks now. He is about 9 months old, and used to live in a large plastic tub. I moved him into a "big boy" aquarium, and he hates it! On the side, he will run up to the glass, all puffed up, and attack it. I assumed it was his reflection, so I tried to cover it, but he can still see to much. On the from, he puffs up, and glass surfs to the point of destruction. I am pretty sure it's all his reflection that is doing this. What do people recommend I do? Should I totally cover up ALL the glass? What should I cover it with? I have not experienced this with my other beardies and it's really upsetting to me. He also doesn't like to be held yet. I am assuming that he is still just trying to settle in, but I am a total mess. Someone PLEASE help us.....
At 9 months he may be reaching his teenager phase. I'd keep the glass covered with something light colored or with just a little bit of patterns. Give him some time to run around outside the tank and burn off energy if you have an area that is safe for him to explore. Other than that, you kind of just have to wait it out if my guess is right and it's hormonal. From what I've seen (limited experience) it doesn't last too long. Maybe a few weeks as I recall.
I currently have 3 sides covered, should I also cover the front? I don't want him to not be able to see out, but I really don't want him to hurt himself.
