Camo, who is 4 almost 5 months old, was basking on his branch, opened his mouth as wide as I believe possible, threw up and then tried to swallow as much of it as he could get back down. Weird!!! Is this normal? This has never happened before to him.
Thanks for the help.
Throwing up is not usually normal for beardies. I did have both of our girls throw up, once. For Rosie it was because her temps weren't correct and we had just gotten her a day or two before. With Goldie, she ate too many supers too fast without chewing them first. But neither of them got diareha, though.
What are your temps? and what do you take them with? That may be part of the problem, tho with the two, I can't be sure. Is there a vet near you that specializes in beardies? Where we are there isn't and we have to go to Tucson, AZ to see one.
The hot side is 101 the cool side is about 80 to 82. I think we figured out that he ate too much too fast (supers- his new favorite).
We are keeping an eye on him but he seems to be doing just fine
I'm glad to hear that he's doing better. That's the same thing that happened to Goldie. She was very hungry and we didn't feed her greens before the supers like we normally do. She ate 9 supers - whole and didn't chew them. She threw up them all, still whole and dead, so if anyone tells you supers can eat their way out of a beardies stomach, it's untrue. Goldie was just fine later after drinking water, she was dehydrated.
