Shes\hes not even eating one cricket! He eats his vegetables, mealworms, and super worms. He even runs when the worms are far away from him\her. But my beardie dosnt even want to look at the crickets. We tried putting it in front of him\her but it itnst working at all. Not even a lick. Please help me find out what’s wrong!
Sometimes they just don't like crickets. If he's eating veggies and worms then that's fine. Maybe add some healthier worms to the diet if they are becoming a staple feeder. Things like black soldier fly larvae, silk worms, and horn worms are good options. I'd limit the mealworms and supers. I think it's just a preference issue rather than a problem.
But he/she used to always eat crickets ever since I got my beardie. Is it still considered that he\she dosnt like the crickets? If so, how much of the other type of worms should I feed my bearded dragon daily?
Yeah sometimes they just get bored with a feeder so swapping it out for a while is good. Try the crickets again in a month or two and see if they go over better. Worms are the same as with crickets. Offer her as many as she wants in a 10 min or so window a couple of times per day.
There are several places that sell them but they tend to be seasonal and are sold in batches. I usually try to get mine from coastal silkworms in a cup with chow but they haven't had them for a while. Mulberry farms sells them too. If I don't get them in a cup with chow I put them in a plastic bin with holes cut in the top for ventilation on top of paper towel. I make some chow (you can get packs of dry chow that you boil with water and cool) and freeze it wrapped in plastic wrap. Then I take the frozen log and grate it over the worms with a microplane. Replace the chow and paper towel daily. You can also get them as eggs and raise them which is cheapest. It helps to have access to fresh mulberry leaves if you do that because they seem to prefer it. If you have mulberry leaves available I'd go that route.
