Today my little baby Croc has sort of liquidy poo's but still with solids in.. He has had about four today, one earlier on while my boyfriend was with him which he heard a "pfft" sort of fart noise when it came out and had 2 while out of his home and one in the bath.
He has been eating black crickets, watercress, kale and abit of strawberry. Drinking like normal. All his lights are correct aswell. Nothing has changed and he has been his happy little self, running around climbing his wall etc. The only difference is his poo's.
I would just like to know what it COULD be since thats the only "symptom" of anything that he has?
Well, the watercress could be causing loose stools due to the higher water content in it. Try cutting that out & sticking with collard or mustard greens & only a small bit of kale. The reason for limiting kale is it has higher oxalate content which can hinder the absorption of calcium.
How much strawberry does Croc get, do you give it daily? Too much fruit can also cause diarrhea due to the sugar content. So, if you are giving that daily, cut that back to 2-3 times per week. You can add some butternut squash in addition to the greens for more volume & fiber.
I would give some extra oral fluids for him though since he has lost some fluids through the diarrhea lately so he doesn't get too dehydrated.
He doesn't hardly get strawberry, it was a treat for him and we have cut down them veggies now. Today his poo was much better, think he just had an upset tummy or something, he's fine now though but thanks for that i'll remember about the veg in the future!
Ok, that is good news the stool was better today. Maybe he ate too much, that can happen. Just remember to use the collard or mustard greens as staples instead of just watercress.
I hope he is doing well today!
