My bearded dragon fell and seemed to be dead but then started moving.

What can I do? How can I know if he’s going to be okay?

So what happened was that my dad had my bearded dragon as always with him, taking care of my dragon, and this time I think my bearded dragon wanted to explore or he was just playing with my dad, but he jumped from a very short distance BUT he hit his jaw first, he landed in a wrong way I guess…
So my dad told me when he heard it he quickly stood up and saw that my bearded dragon was DEAD, his tongue was sticking out, it was purple, his colors changed and his body was limb, wasn’t moving at all. I didn’t ask him if he saw if my bearded dragon was breathing.
He then told me he panicked in the moment and picked my bearded dragon and my dad started to like press in my dragon’s back and then he started moving my dragon’s jaw ‘cause my dad said it looked “disconnected”…but then my bearded dragon moved his jaw by himself and that’s when my dad felt relieved.
He told me it took MANY minutes for my bearded dragon to open his eyes and move.
When I first saw my dragon he was like wobbling his head while walking. He wasn’t walking anymore, he didn’t lift his body and move his legs and arms, he was crawling, slowly, he was struggling. When I saw my dragon yesterday he had constricted pupils.
This happened yesterday, today it’s a new day, my dragon is still alive but I can tell something’s off or maybe I should just wait.
My bearded dragon woke up as usually and climbed his rock, so I guess that’s a good sign.

You need to get him to a vet asap.
@KarrieRee or @hdochow can you post the link to the vets search engine please?

Hi, I will take him to the vet tomorrow, today he woke up but yeah, he’s losing his balance when walking, he’s struggling a bit, I gave him a hornworm and he was able to eat it, swallow it normally.
He just can’t lift his body, he probably needs to rest but I’ll take him to the vet, thank you :)

Hello,

I would definitely get him to a vet. It sounds like he injured himself because he is off balance which
isn't normal. He most likely hurt his head/neck area, or his back.
I'm glad to hear he is eating though & basking.
Let us know how he is doing & how the vet visit goes once you get an appointment.

Oh no, that sounds really scary. It’s a relief the fall wasn’t from too high, but since he landed on his jaw, I’d keep a close eye on him. Check for any swelling, bruising, or if he seems uncomfortable. If he’s eating normally and acting like himself, that’s a good sign, but you might want to give him softer foods for a bit, just to be safe.

However, i will still go with the suggestion from some members here, and it is to visit your vet.

Hello,

Any updates for us? I hope that your dragon is going to be ok,
I am worried about the behavior. Please let us know how things
are going.

He’s doing way better, he might be special but we still love him :D jp
He survived, he’s doing fine, growing and being so energetic :)
Thanks to everyone who helped and asked! <3

Hello,

That is good to hear he is doing a lot better now. Is he able to get around & eat normally now?
A lot of dragons have special needs but they are doing well & are happy so it shouldn't make any difference as long as she is happy!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
