My sister is at my house looking after Nef while I'm in school. She called me today and said while she was feeding him last night a moth flew into his viv and he ran and ate it. I wouldn't assume it would be a big problem, and he seems fine, but are moths known to be toxic at all? What are the chances of it carrying parasties? Thanks.
I googled it and couldn't find any references to toxic moths in Canada... however, there are still risks if the moth came into contact with parasites or chemicals. Keep a very close eye on your beardie for any changes in his appetite, energy level, and poop. If you see anything weird, take him to the vet.
Also, how big was the moth in comparison to Nef? Was it big enough to pose an impaction risk?
