My male beardie Musket is always eating up, he's really good like that, always happy to eat his veges and always goes for the crickets.
Recently however, hes had trouble sticking out his tongue. He sort of sticks it out to one side rather than out in front. He also tends to get a lot of food stuck in his cheeks, on the outside of his teeth. I've been cleaning it out for his as he eats, but it's concerning me a little bit. He has trouble catching crickets, although he seems to have somewhat adapted.
Being a concerned pet owner, I took him to the vet. She saw nothing wrong with him, no tooth rot or gum disease or anything of that nature.
I will say this odd tongue behavior hasn't hampered his appetite in the slightest. He still munches down his squash and his kale like a good boy, so I'm not too worried about him.
Has anyone had this experience with dragons? Maybe a solution they can think of?
Hi there, how old is Musket ? Do you use any calcium or vitamin powder on his food ? When you say he has food in his cheeks, do you mean like in his beard/throat area or actual cheeks ? I've never seen that, although sometimes my beardies will have a cricket head or leg sticking out the side of their mouth.

I don't know precisely how old Musket is but he is around about 6 years old (he used to be a breeding lizard). I do give him calcium and vitamin power, the stuff from Rep-Cal.
Its not in his beard and throat, it is getting stuck in his actual cheeks, between his teeth and his skin (I guess lizards don't have "cheeks" as such so I guess they're his lips). It is happening less frequently now actually, however from time to time I see a bit of squash stuck in there, like I kid eating an orange and I gently tug it out with a tooth pick, he doesn't like that much!
