Hey guys! I've had my bearded dragon for about a month now, he is 6 weeks old. I took him to the vet 2 weeks ago and he checked our fine. As of last week he started puffing his throat and breathing, and a popping comes from his mouth. I was in touch with the vet today and they said to call tomorrow for an emergency visit because I sent in some videos and they said the staining was concerning. Well, when I got home today I noticed his nostrils were clogs so a light pressed on them and a bunch of liquid came out, I cant get the other to do it so it remains clogged. He's currently mouth breathing and his mouth appears to be more moist than usual. I already submitted my number to the emergency pager however I doubt they will contact me back bc im not sure if I'm submitting correctly as it gives almost no instruction on how to do it. I am really freaking out right now because he's staring to breath and I'm wondering if I should try contacting another place for an emergency to get him in asap tonight or if it is something that can wait til the morning and I can call in and speak to someone.
Aw, sorry to hear the little one is having such trouble ! Probably be fine to wait until tomorrow but be sure that the vet is experienced with small beardies.. They may prescribe an antibiotic like enrofloxacin [ Baytril ] or ceftazidime [ Fortaz ] I hope everything turns out O.K.
So sorry your dragon is having some trouble!
For now, I would try to keep him a little warmer overnight, around 78-82, for help with boosting
his immune system.
You could place him on a slight decline while he sleeps in the case that he may have fluids in
his lungs that need to drain out.
Let us know if you are able to get him into the vets & how he is doing.

I am so sorry as I am just seeing this! I got him into the vet the next day and they prescribed him some antibiotics for a RI. He's reacting very well to the medicine and the mucus has cleared up and he no longer does the throat puffing/mouth breathing!
That is terrific to hear he was able to get on some antibiotics & that they helped him out
so much. How much longer will he be on the medication & which one did the vet prescribe
for him?

He is on it for 21 days, and they gave him Enrofloxacin. I've been nervous about it messing with his system as I've read it can be quite harsh, but he is still eating normal. He has become more thirsty but he's been drinking water at his own convenience.
