Hello everyone,
This is more of a health/behavior concern. I have been noticing he has been opening his mouth slightly but not gaping. Here are some photos:
I don't see any stringy saliva or hear any wheezing/popping sounds. I know respiratory infections occur when low temps but high humidity which on his temperature and humidity gauge it records the highs and lows. The highs it's around 30 to 35% and lows are around 15-20%. Is this normal/behavior has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible just one of the personality thing he does? Any helpful tips or suggestions is much appreciated.
Darwin does that sometimes too. Not exactly sure why but I notice it more frequently when he is shedding and his nose is plugged more than normal so maybe it's just easier to breathe that way.
my beardie will come up to me and start rubbing her nose against my fingers when she shedding. ill stick my nail out and let her hook her nose into it and ill hold it while she pulls back. a LOOOONG length of shed will slide out of her nose and then you just see her swell up and sigh out a deep breath.... in the days or weeks before she does this tho she is always running aroudn with her mouth open
