So yesterday I posted on here about my tank setup and got some help. I had bought the 20gal zoomed kit, and i got advice on how to fix that situation. I immediately removed the water bowl from his viv and bought a 24 inch reptisun 10.0 and a fixture for it and mounted it in his viv. He got about 4 hours of this before bed. He also went last night without the red "night light", and tank temperature never went below 72. Using my IR gun on his basking spot it checks in around 106. I also gave him a bath last night which he greatly enjoyed(1/4 inch of water and splashed it a little on him). Also last night he ate like a champ. I also used Herptivite on his crickets for the first time, to which he took around 15 and 2 small pieces of mustard greens.
Got up this morning, which is his first night out of the "night light" and found him asleep on his warm side. I cut the basking light and reptisun on and he woke up. About 20 minutes later I gave him some crickets, but he didnt really want to move...but would eat the crickets that got close(usually he runs all around trying to find them). He only ate about 5 which is much less than normal. He now is sitting in his basking spot, but hasnt really been interested in eating any more.
give him some more time in the morning to warm up. He was prolly still cold. Do you know what the temp gets at night? He was prolly a bit colder, and slept a bit deeper than he has been since you were using a niteheat light. I give my an hour at least to warm up.
Well just an update....Last night I gave him a bath and then he ate 2 or 3. This morning, I turned his lights on and gave him about 30 minutes and he was ravenous. He ate 22 crickets with no problem. Thanks for the advice folks.
