Hi everyone, yesterday my 4 year old beardie tiny lost a nail and a piece of his toe (I don't know how I think it got caught in his rock.) there was blood everywhere, and I did not have any quick stop, so I put cornstarch on his toe and rushed him to the hospital. By the time we got there, the bleeding had stopped and the vet, (who in my opinion didn't know as much as he should have) said there was Nothing he could do. I checked on him every hour through the night and morning. He's active, alert and bright, however I'm worried he's in pain. Is there anything I can do to help him not hurt.
Their toes get caught like that sometimes. It's probably painful at first but it heals and doesn't usually cause any long term damage. Keep the area clean and apply some plain neosporin on it. Overnight you can put some raw/unpasteurized honey on it (it wears off less then) and rinse off in the morning. That will help protect it and keep it from getting infected which is the main concern. Hopefully it will be healed over in a few days and no further issues.
