Meleys is back to not wanting to eat.

She looks great, they are built to go through all types of hardship or go off food for a while with no bad effects. She is very large for her age, can you get a weight + length on her ? Dragons that eat huge amounts may suddenly almost go on to a fast, refusing all but small amounts. Since you're forcing her she is not hungry. Just be patient and her appetite should return in the near future.

Feeding a dragon 42 dubias in one day is excessive, so smaller amounts of food is the way to go. Only 5-6 medium dubia 2X a week for a large juvenile is fine, or about 2 a day along with greens and some of the usual worms you feed her. The temps. are good, don't raise them at all. She might even prefer the basking area a few degrees cooler.

Ok. 195 grams now. Lost 2.1 grams since yesterday but just pooped. So I will take in a fecal for recheck today. she is 15.5 inches long. When she was eating 42 roaches they were the small ones. So should I stop syringe feeding her all together now? I now have her cool side at 83 - 84 degrees. It is difficult to get an accurate temp reading on her current basking rock because of the ridged design. I would say the basking rock is around 110 degrees. Should I go lower than 110? Thank you for your help.

Others tell me she should be eating like a horse so then I worry because she is only 5.5 months old. Also, how do I add another dragon to my intro page. I have another dragon, Vhagar, who is in brumation and now I have my baby Meyeys.

O.K, I wondered if they were baby dubias, those are too small and it would take so many more of them to make up a medium dubia. So it was probably the equivalent of 6-7 medium dubias.

They usually have a good appetite but they don't need to " eat like a horse ", that can be mistaken for the power feeding that some people still do, feeding babies + juvies loads of insects to get them to grow real fast. Many people end up with huge, chunky dragons at 16-24 months old that can lead to them having health problems [ liver, kidney, reproductive , etc ] down the road.

So yes, they should have a good appetite but they don't need and shouldn't be fed huge volumes of food. Just be patient and she should start eating slowly but surely. Oh, and losing 2-3 grams or so is nothing at all to worry about. They can gain or lose 5-10 grams after eating or pooping.

Yes, stop syringe feeding but if she eats nothing for a week it's probably good to offer the Reptaboost mixed with water. Other than that her appetite should return. Weigh her once a week and if she loses more than 10-15 grams in 2 weeks you can schedule another vet appt. and take in a fecal sample. I don't think it will go that far though.

And the basking spot should be fine around 105, 110 max.

Ok. Did as you told me. Took her to vet as she is still not eating. Vet suspects follicular stasis. I was shocked as she is only six months old. Took blood test, and gave a vitamin injection of A, D, E, and B12. Need to syringe feed. I have Repta-Boost and Carnivore Care. I ordered Omnivore Care and it should be here today. She passed a watery stool today (small) with hard urate. Wanting to stay in hides all the time so I turned them to where she can't get in them. Should I not do this? She is now basking. Vet will call tomorrow with test results. Next plan is an x-ray. If she is full of follicles, she recommends surgery and possibly a spay.

There's no way I would spay her just because she is trying to make eggs. She's a she, they produce eggs. Unless she is making a life threatening volume or can't pass them, I'd give her time

Has she eaten anything at all , lost more weight and did the vet do another fecal test ? Yikes on all those vitamin injections, never heard of that before [ except B12 at times ] and never had a dragon need them. I very much doubt that she's developing eggs .

Not wanting to eat at all. Lost more weight. Fecal was clear....has had two tests. Did a full panel blood test to look at markers to lead her to diagnose follicular stasis. Next thing if need be, will be to get an x-ray. I have no idea what to do at this point. Will syringe feed her with Carnivore Care tonight. What about feeding her Omnivore Care?

12 grams. Should I syringe feed her Omnivore Care? Just at a loss. I have had a friend experienced with dragons check my husbandry to say it is all just fine.

I mix the critical care thin enough to use an eyedropper. It's much easier to meter how much comes out than with a syringe.

I've used all three varieties of the critical care and my guys liked it all. The herbivore has two flavors though and I haven't tried the strawberry-banana yet.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
