So Meleys is back to not wanting to eat again. Every morning I make her a salad with greens. I also offer her a variety of insect throughout the day. (dubia roaches, crickets, hornworms, silkworm, mealworms, and wax worms) I let her have only one hornworm. She will eat about six small silkworms and an occasional wax worm. She refuses everything else including the salad. I don't feel like six small silkworms, one medium hornworm and a small wax is sustaining her at 5.5 months old. So I have been syringe feeding her 12 scoops of ReptaBoost mixed with 6 ml of water each day. She hates that I am syringe feeding her but seems to like the taste of the ReptaBoost. Do you have any other suggestions?

At 5.5 months she should be eating like a horse- use the silk worms as lures to the salad bowl - they stick to everything- please go over the UVB your using distance and placement if its a tube -- surface basking temps and how your getting them NO stickons they are inaccurate

Ambient temp in middle and cool side is 83.1. Basking rock on warm side is 106 degrees with digital probe (isn't the best surface to take the temp). If I spot check the basking surface with gun it is 110 - 112 degrees. Distance from basking rock to UVB light is 11 inches. With her sitting on the branch she is closer. Her tank is 40 gallons and am looking to upgrade to 120 gallons but hopefully after the holidays. About a month ago she ate like a horse one day and then stopped the next. She was on meds for three days for pinworms and have been trying to catch a fecal sample from her that is fresh and not on the weekends. Hopefully this week I can get a sample to take in for recheck. I offer dubia roaches, silk worms, hornworms, wax worms, small mealworms, crickets, collards, mustard greens, turnip greens, and squash. I have now resorted to ReptaBoost.

How long has she been off the meds? Shes eating so that is good - I would go to large silk worms - and put the silk worms in the salad -- try and get some plain canned pumpkin in her that will make her go to the bathroom - how is she getting water?

two weeks. No. She is not eating well. She wants to eat only three small silk worms (the only size I can find here) and one medium hornworm. Won't eat anything else so that is why I am syringe feeding here ReptaBoost (7 ml) per day. She is getting her water through ReptaBoost and the one hornworm. She won't drink from even a dropper.

Keep an eye on the weight --- see if shes losing - where are you getting the silk worms? On line or the store?

It always took my guys 2 weeks to a month to regain their appetites after antibiotics. I think they really jack there gut flora up. It takes time for it to recover from the antibiotics.
I have used the reptiboost personally but I've had really good success geting mine to eat critical care. I have a new bag if you like I can meet up with at scales and tails and give you some to try. I use an eyedropper for the critical care instead of a syringe. It's easier to control how much comes out. I just mix it thin enough to come out.

I give her probiotic too. You keep your critical care and I will order some. You may need yours. Thanks so much.

Today she is refusing all food. Do you think it would be ok to increase the temp of her tank? Is it ok for her basking rock to be at 115 and her cool end at 90?

I can't get her to eat anything today. Not even silk worms or hornworms. I just fed her 4 ml of ReptaBoost. I use don't understand how one day she ate 42 roaches then the next day just started refusing everything. Hopefully I will get a fresh sample today for another fecal. The sample yesterday had so much water with her having the water in the Reptaboost plus the hornworm that I couldn't scoop it up.

I order from Dubiaroach.com. However, they do not sell silk worms. But she is not wanting those now either.

Dubiaroach.com is a great site. I order all my feeders from there. I hope your beardie gets well soon. The only advice I can give you is to spend time with her. Be patient. When Mirage was coming off his meds he took 2-3 weeks to get back to eating normal. I had to spend some 45+ minutes enticing him to eat just a couple worms. Keep up the good work!

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
