Howdy! I am new to this website and owning a Bearded Dragon. My boy is a juvenile of around 3-4 months. He is really active around food, loves chin rubs, and doing his favorite pose on his rock, the "Sexy Leg"
In my opinion he seems to be one of the most calm Juveniles which worries me, I don't know if it is normal for him to just sit on his basking rock all day. But he seems pretty active around food so I assume he's fine. He's also really active when I handle him. I've had him for this will be the fourth day, I finally got him to eat some vegetables and he loves them.
Some stuff I am looking for is websites selling live crickets that are trustworthy and are on the cheap side. I paid 17 dollars yesterday for only 3 days of food. Outrageous in my opinion.
I feed the Juve around 35 crickets a day, usually less, probably around 30. Is this a good amount?
Funny thing, my baby was eating crickets the other day and puffed up at my mom and scared her. She said it hissed at her and I don't know if it can actually do that but it was pretty funny to see.
He looks quite healthy. His calm demeanor is probably just his unique personality showing. They're all a bit different which is good =). It looks like he's going to have a good life with you.
As far as feeders go, you'll definitely want to order in bulk or get a roach colony going (or both). I've used Georgia Crickets with good success in the past. When I ordered 1000 small crickets (1/4'' if I recall correctly) they would last for about a month. They cost around $30 including shipping. There are other good vendors out there too but I've worked with them.

Thanks so much for letting me know a good place to get food for the little baby! Should I get a plastic tub to keep them in and have a ventilation thing (Mesh) on the side?
By the way, that link you sent made me cry laughing.
Thank so much, my friend put the little hat and glasses on him and made him a little swaggy boy. They are obsessed with him right now so I am glad he is making people's day.
Yeah a big rubbermaid bin with a hole in the top covered in mesh should do. Give them some paper towel and toilet paper tubes for housing and feed them veg scraps and they should do pretty well.
