This is Kenobi, I brought (strongly suspected him) home just about a week ago after a lot of research. The pet shop I got him from only sold the dragons after verifying you had appropriate housing, or after you purchased one of their 'dragon packages' which was the viv, cabinet, lights, uvb, etc, etc.
One thing I am constantly nervous about is whether my little guy is getting enough UVB. The light is an arcadia 12%, wth a reflector so it's supposed to increase the range, but I still worry. Because the UVB isn't directly in line with his basking spot I'm never sure if he is getting enough, even though I have angled the log he likes to lie on so that he can lay directly under both if he chooses, but he mainly lies directly under the heat bulb.
Any feedback for a newbie would be greatly appreciated!
What is the distance of the UVB? It looks farther than 15 inches-- if it is I would raise the decor piece or lower the UVB some---- distance should be 12-15 inches your reflector is going to help w/ the UVB rays -- the basking light looks like its a off colored or yellowish from the pic --- if it is I would swap it out for a bright white one--
Hey, thanks for the reply. The UVB tube is 25cm away from the basking spot, so I think about 9 inches. The basking bulb is an arcadia halogen for heat and light, is it off colour? All the ones I have seen look that orange-y colour, now I'm worried lol
