As I go along, my thinking changes more toward variety rather than focus on a few items (to the extent that a dragon wants variety that is offered). I think focus on a few "staples" is more for convenience in housing/raising a feeder rather than a proper diet. It's good to always have something on hand. Also related to what we have available to order which varies quite a lot by location.
