So I got my beardie almost a week ago. He’s definitely opened up a lot and is eating normally. My questions are how should his tank be set up? He’s a little bigger than size of my palm in a 40G, two hides, which he doesn’t really use, a log and a basking spot. He’s also on reptile carpet because he climbs/slides around almost like his joints are stiff (which has improved a lot), I figured he’d have better grip on that, so should I get almost like ornaments that are a softer ramp? I’m a new owner so I want to make sure he’s nice and comfortable.

I uploaded to the original post. I have a 150 coil exoterra UVB. On top of the tank, I haven’t checked the temperature, but I definitely will. His tank will be more decorated soon and I plan to get the TB bulb, I believe it’s called? The really long one?

You need to upgrade the UVB ASAP - please get a 24" fixture Zoo Med or Sunblaster Nano or a Arcadia Pro T 5 check out this website www.pangeareptiles.com for the Zoo Med or Arcadia Pro T 5-- you want a Reptisun 10.0 T 5 or the Arcadia 12% bulb --- at this point the dragon is getting little to NO UVB and this is the cause for the stiffness hes experiencing --- he is not able to absorb his calcium --- please get him out into the direct sun for 15 minutes in a plastic tote NO GLASS -- watch him do not leave him you dont want to burn him up --- do this every day til your UVB comes -- you will need to upgrade to a bigger tank like a 75-120 for a full size dragon -- the fixture I posted will go right into that new tank - once you get the correct UVB in his tank he should show signs of improvement w/ that UVB but you must act quickly -- when you get the new UVB please post back on here so I can help you get it placed - the decor you have in the tank now is great especially the stick on there now it looks like the one I have in my two tanks -- take the long stick part lay it on the carpet so the trunk is up set it under your basking bulb it will give gradient heats so he can pick the temp he wants to bask at-- please get a digital probe thermometer a Zoo Med get 2 one for the cool side of the tank and one for the basking side - you will need to take the probe place where he sits for basking and then bet the temp 105-110--

I’ll definitely do that thank you so much! I’ll make sure to post again once I get everything set up! I just want my little guy to be as happy and healthy as can be so I really appreciate the help!

Hello,

How is your dragon doing? Definitely post some pictures once you get everything all
switched around, so we can see. Once you have the tank all fixed up, then maintaining it
is much easier for you.
He is very cute, great color on him.

Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
