Starting to plan out marvins new cage...everything is a work in progress so far, just kinda feeling out the designing. Been using Google Sketch:
All the tiles inside are modeled to be exactly 6" x 6"...thoughts, comments, and concerns are always welcome. I will be putting up more plans as i revise
Scraped the original design...too trashy looking, could have been cause I was having a few drinks while designing...here is the new design. Still WIP...has an 8" deep, 1 ft sq burrow box, and I am putting the vents in right now...tell me what you think please...
That borrow box is kind of a cool idea. I dont think the sides need to be that thick. You could use just one peice of nice cabinet ply for the case itself. Take a look at the viv's I just finished. http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=124292
Are you talking about the actual sides of the box? of the framing? The walls are 1/4" thick, and the framing is 2x2s...have to make the box rugged since I am in the military and they always higher the cheapest movers...thinking long term and indestrucatability...
I think it looks fantastic! Love the idea of the burrow box. What substrate would you place in it? Also how will you keep the door/cover open?
What program are you using to model your enclosure?

Thanks for the compliments. I am using google sketch-up...basically a toned down Auto CAD to be honest. I was thinking of that excavator clay, not sure yet. I am going to use those hinge type things that go inside, and then lock out when you open the door fully. I have them at home, cant remember exactly what they are called...
Looks good you will have to bring the TV out to the front or make the shelves shallower or on an angle to keep the viewing angles appropriate for the TV. I would also put the TV near the Beardie ours constantly watches TV with us and is enamored with the color changing on the screen.
Great Job on sketchup, every time I go to use it I screw one thing up that messes with everything else.
