Bedankt! or thank you in English ;) It really took a toll on me and still is but I've learned so much during last 7 months that i can actually relax!! Mangolito still has his ups and downs, just imagine, a malnutritious bearded dragon, winter along with hybernating behavior, getting surgery along with 2 weeks of baytrill causing loss in weight and signs off dehydration, two weeks after the baytrill ended he was getting stronger again, but then the summer hit and you know the heat we had a up to last week in the Netherlands, my ambient living room temps got up to 30°c or 86°f, while at night time there is no wind at all cooling the room (air-conditioning is not common in the our County) during this period he started shedding causing him to eat or drink less, while the humidity was way too low, 30 minutes after spraying the small enclosure hes in right now everything evaporated again, especially because of using paper towel as substrate not holding moisture for long enough periodes. ladt week temps in the Netherlands dropped significantly and humidty is arround 30/40% now. he hust started to shed his last leg and the base of his tail the rest took him a month. the saddest thing ive learned along the way is that beardies average age in captivity shouldn't be 8 to twelve, but tather 12 to 15, in the wild they simply are just easy pray animals because of the arid environment, in captivity most bearded dragons especially people's first die too young bevause of the specific needs they have that are way more complex than i ever encountered while holding snakes in the past. I stopped the snake hobby after 7 years because it started feeling like 3d art objects that you have to feed, getting too know Mangolito tought me how lizards can not be compared in cognitive behavior, he loves chilling out with me when he is in shape even comes to the glass frontside and scratches it sometimes when i wake up, not because of stress but for affection and play time, my cat is not allowed outside as she is extremely agrasive towards other cats, once a neighbor cat sneaked into my last appartment while i was moving a antique desk i bought from the car to my house, i ran up and when i heard screaming noises, and within 20 seconds i enter led my hallway and its was full of grey hair, in the living room she was just tearing the other cat apart and i quicly took her off (Siamese bloodline), but she's fine with dogs, but more important she (Minou) and Mangolito really like eachother, when Mango is out on the couch with me and Minou joins us Mango just climbs on her and Minou rubs her head upon Mango, saying hi!! its insane!! I never knew certain lizards could be so social and were able to connect too other living beings as they do not in the wild and that really touched me and made me willing to sacrifice all my savings for him! I'll share a vid of Mango sitting on Minou slipping off because of her soft furcoat and she starts rubbing her face on Mangolito while he's fine with it!! he also loves to climb my head or hangout on the side off my face i also take him and with a clean blanket too the park 5 minutes away from here when the sun is out which he loves and at before bedtime he loves to fall asleep on me. To cute!! here are some pics.
