Lulu says Thank You!

My husband and I (after a lot of research) decided to become bearded dragon parents! My husband works at PetSmart and yes I know... a lot of them have no idea what they're doing. Luckily, this location has individuals caring for the dragons that go above and beyond. Corporate policy limits so much they can do, but at this location... they go to local produce and get FRESH veggies and only get live feeders.
I digress!... So, my hubby falls in love with Lulu, and brings her home on 3/10/23- estimated age was about 3 months.
We took her to an AMAZING local exotic vet on 4/19 and I prepared a 2-page document for them to provide all husbandry, bathing schedules, growth chart, feeder types, lighting, you name it... it was there. He was astonished and Lulu got the PERFECT bill of health. The few pics were taken just a few days ago at the vet. As you can see, she was hanging onto her daddy for dear life and was NOT having any more of that doctor stuff. LOL

I have been on this forum watching and reading for a few months now and I truly appreciate the guidance and information it has offered. It has opened my eyes to a lot as well. There are too many people acquiring these precious creatures without the proper knowledge. I've shared the site with sooooo many people on reddit and other platforms that need assistance.

Again, thank you from myself, my hubby, and most of all LuLu.

3/10/23: 3 months (approx)- 7 inches- 23 grams
4/19/23: 4 months (approx)- 12 inches- 124 grams

Here are a few pics of our journey so far :) The tank you see (20 gallon) was only used for 3 weeks- she's now in a 67 gallon as we work on building her a custom set up.

Welcome!

What a pretty little girl you have. I love her window box.

And for the record, I think Petsmart gets a bad rap sometimes. So much varies between locations. A lot comes down to how much the individual's working there care about the animals. The critters at your husband's location are lucky he is around to look out for them.

Swordtail has been doing a whole lot of "Lizard yoga" lately
Currently trying not to stress over my anemic dragon....she is being treated, but I don't agree with her treatment plan and have been seeking out a second opinion from another vet. If anyone else has dealt with anemia, please let me know how it was resolved. I am losing sleep over this
Another post lol. My beardie does not like enclosures. Her tank is the kids room and she has created a nesting/bed spot in the corner. She will cuddle with my son but she know when the lights are out and the kids go to sleep, she literally goes to her bed like she is our 3rd baby. I love her. And to think, I never wanted a beardie lol
Please help. My beardie is my baby and I am worried she may be egg bound but I can't tell. She is over 2 yrs old and has never laid an egg. She has been swollen for two days and can't tell if she may be impacted or egg bound. Please help.
I'm still looking to adopt. I live near Homerville Georgia.
