For those of you interested in the "Perchten", here is more about where the tradition comes from, in English:
(They say something about the "Schönpercht", the "beautiful" one. It's not really pretty, it would fit very well a Halloween theme. Looks often like a witch, elderly princess (female), or a king, watchmaker or hunter for the male version. Always with a wooden mask.)

I've attached photos of our Christmas decoration. On the second photo, there is a mix of things from different cultures, like a few things from Germany like the advent calendar, brass angel (it was made in the DDR while it still existed - according to relatives one of the few really nice things one could buy there) and wooden stars (from Bavaria); a Chilean version of the Santa Claus "Viejito Pascuero", a Moroccan lantern (that one I just bought in the Souk (bazar) while I was on a business trip to Marrakech) and a few things bought while we lived in the US like a Santa Claus star.

I've never seen wooden stars like these. Do these stars symbolize anything?

They also exist in the form of pine trees. Or a complete nativity scene made that way, lanterns. Bark is left, and they are on purpose not made too perfect - never whimsical.

They symbolize more or less the place they come from: The forest. They are from the Bavarian Forest region, where people call themselves "Waidler", means forest people. I'm myself from there, and there is a strong connection to the forest.

(The small nativity scene made of olive wood on the very right has nothing to do with that. It's from Israel, but I found it at a flea market in the US. I like how different these objects look despite both of them being made from wood.)

I was think along the same lines as you, it would be interesting to see how folks abroad celebrate Christmas 🎄 🎄 🎄 ❄❄☃️☃️🎁🎁
We were a little late with putting up the Christmas tree, but we managed to do it this weekend!
So, as promised, I'm sharing some photos.
Of course, Foxy's house will be set up next to the tree, because he loves watching the lights.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
