So Sunday I gave my bearded a bath. He was kind of huffing a bit after that and I started to panic thinking he had a URI. Sunday night he ate like 15 crickets etc. I brought him to emerg vet (no reptile specialist) on Monday. They act like a real emergency so he wasn't seen until Tueaday morning. Vet called and said he doesn't appear to have an issue breathing, lungs are clear. Said it could be a URI or pneumonia, but because she isn't a reptile vet and they couldn't xray she couldn't be sure. I picked him up Tuesday, he was fine at work with me all day. Get home and give him his meds they prescribed. Enroflovaxin and 4 ml every 24 hrs, 60 ML total bottle. He ate the first dose and a few crickets, but went black beard. Pooped this morning (kind of normal consistency) still black beard. Pooped a few more times and it was pure water. Cleaned him up, still black beard and won't eat anything. I gave him a bath tonight and swaddled him for a bit and he is still black and now basking. Now I'm wondering if he has an infection at all, and with that amount of antibiotic sis he just go black because of the meds and it made him feel yucky?? Should I stop giving to him and monitor? I have a teleconference next Thursday with reptile vet and in person apt Oct 13. He isn't having issues breathing, opens his mouth a bit while he basks, which is somewhat normal for him anyway. I'm at a loss as to what do to, but can't get into specialized vet any sooner and it seems the vet I took him to has no idea about beardies. I'm a panicked Crackers Beardie mom right now!! Enclosure is proper Temps, proper humidity, 12%arcadia desert linear UVB (new) 4 x 2.5 ft enclosure

Please get a piece of basking decor directly under the uvb 12-15 inches - what are your surface basking temps--? How are you taking them? I don't see any temp gauges- for him not feeling well please have your ambient temps at night around 80-- a che would be good for that- I am flagging your post to drache613 - she's our vet tech mod @Drache613

I have a gun that I check Temps with consistently. Basking temp runs anywhere from 95-112 F. There is usually a hydrometer on the side as well as a digital but after he went to the vet I deep cleaned his tank and took them out to do so. The other side of his tank had a stick her likes to climb up that is that far away from his UVB light and he sits on it often.

Ok he needs that back in and I recommend 2 digital probe thermometers they are the most accurate and please get a digital probe hygrometer - place on back center wall please-- the surface basking temps and uvb are extremely important now w/ him not feeling well-

That's the issue now too. I'm not sure if he isn't feeling well or I was just over reacting. He was perfect yesterday when I picked him up from. the vet. Happy and looked good. Gave him the meds and he was instantly not happy and like this. Photo is of me bringing him home from the vet so you can see the difference.
When you mentioned that you gave 4mls of the Enroflaxin/Baytril, did you mean .4ml or a full
4mls? If you gave a full 4mls that is a huge overdose. How is he doing this evening, is his beard
still black?
I would not give anymore medication right now & focus on hydration. Do you have any type of
probiotics you could start him on?
Be sure to keep him a little warmer overnight right now, to help boost his immune system.
Let us know how he is doing.

He went to bed fine and was sleeping okay, beard was still black. It's early here and I haven't checked on him yet. And yes I said 4 NOT . 4 4 ML - total bottle they gave me was 60 ML. Now I'm super panicked and I think they didn't dose properly. I'm definitely not giving him anymore then. I thought it was a hell of a lot too. Point 4 I could see but this seemed way too much. My vet apt isn't until next Thurs so I don't have a clue what to do as far as keep giving him even .4 or stop altogether.
