Hi all, I'm posting this because Queen is worrying me. She is slowly losing weight without any reason. She used to be fat and plump, weighing about 320 grams, now she looks on the skinny side and weighed 280 2 days ago, and my other dragon who used to be skinny and didn't gain any weight at all, now she is has a huge belly with big fat pads and weighed 300g 2 days ago. They are in seperate cages
Queen isn't letharhgic at all, she glass dances the whole day to be let out to go bask in the window sill, the temps basking side is 101f, cold side is cool, she doesn't have a UVB as the previous one (PowerSun) hurt her eyes and made her sick. She gets liquid calcium every other day and Phoenix worms every other day, after Phoenix worms and liquid calcium I take her outside for 20-30 min (varries on outside temps) to soak up the rays she gets bathed 3x a week. She only eats the Phoenix worms when they are very active, so I have to feed her in the window sill  spoiled brat.
She is about 1 year and 6 months old
I have no idea what to do, she worries me, a lot. Anyone got ideas on why she is losing weight?
So she doesn't have any form of UV light in her tank???? Taking her outside for natural sun for only 30 minutes (and not every day) is not adequate. She needs daily UV exposure.
Please look into getting her a new UV bulb, whether it be a ReptiSun (which you'll need a fixture for) or another PowerSun (they were having issues with these bulbs a few years ago, but supposedly had remedied it) or an Arcadia.
She did have a UV bulb in there until the problems began, she is going outside everyday actually, Mon,Wed,Fri,Sun I give her liquid calcium and the rest of the day is Phoenix worms, I would take her out for longer but it's summer here and gets Blazing hot, and I don't want her to overheat. Repti-Sun and Power-Sun I have to go to the city 110 km away, with no one to take me and not enough money it's kind of hard. I just turned 18 and I'm still in school so I have no form of income, I'm going to try my best to get one on the 23rd of this month. I live in SA and everything is expensive because of our weak economy. Until then, how can I try to get her weight up? I thought about a slurry but I have no idea how to make one. Also, is it okay to give her honey with her liquid calcium? She HATES the taste of the calcium.
