Hi all,
I have a beardie who appeared to be partially blinded since she was a baby, i didn't pay much attention because it was a minor thing, she acted more like "disctracted"
She (actually I thik is a he) is an adult now and her lack of vision seems to be getting worse, she is having more and more trouble trying to catch the crickets, she is very responsive but her aim is really bad and she is starting to confuse my hand with food, so she has to be fed in the mouth but she has bitten me a couple of times by mistake.
Is there anything i can do about this, like washing her eyes with something, eye drops, diet?? It's very sad to watch her get old like that.
I am sorry to hear that, how awful for her. Do her eyes look normal?
Can she not catch anything out of a feeding bowl?
Does she walk & climb normally also?
The feeding tongs would be a good idea if she is accidentally biting you.
Are you giving calcium regularly? You can try giving some multivitamin with beta carotene to try & help the eyes. You can try using sterile saline solution to wash the eyes out daily if needed.
