My son who is 10, has a baby beardie, he is 7 mos old..still tiny little squirt. Lately when son tries to pick him up from tank, or from on me, Kyle (lizard) will open his mouth like he would like to take a bite of son. He doesn't do this to me at all. I am pretty much the main caretaker, could this be why?
Thanks..
I would definitely agree with this statement, fast movements and high energy will freak out lizards, kids also have a tendencies to squeeze a bit tight and flail there arms or just move around while handling them. like Beardednoob said, I bit of gentle handling lessons is likely to do the trick.
I agree too my male did that for awhile with my 11 yr old daughter. But once i showed her how to slide her fingers under his front legs and belly then scoop up his hind end. That was the end of his aggression towards her.Now all she has to do is put her hand in his cage and he climbs right on and away she goes with him.Its funny when hes cranky shes the only one that can handle him go figure lol.
