• Happy "Appreciate a Dragon Day" everyone!
Yes, apparently, that's actually a thing every January 16th! Granted, I think they meant it more for mythical winged creatures... but I'm happy to co-opt it a little!
  • January Photo Competition!

Hi. I've been asked to consider adopting an iguana who was evicted.

We're going to build an indoor enclosure, but it'll take us a few weeks, and we'd have to take the iguana home soon. He/She is under 2 feet long.

What is the best enclosure we could use until we can get a larger home built? Obviously, we realize we'll have to adjust heat, UV, and humidity depending on the size of the enclosure.

Unfortunately, the shelter can't keep the iguana long, and we really want to help the little guy!

We have a bearded dragon and are familiar with MVB, food, supplements, basking temps, etc. We would, of course, keep the lizards separate and in their own enclosures. We've been researching the nutrition, temps, humidity, and other needs for the iguana.

Thank you!

Ive heard of ppl using closets as a very short term "cage" or u could use a dog crate, like a really big one... i use a ferret cage for my 3 1/2 ft ig until we build a bigger/better one lol.... depending on how big of plastic tub u can find, that would work... umm... im running out of idea lol

Kept my rhino in a XL dog crate til I found his next temp home. I say temp because he really needs more area than the cabinet I reconditioned which he is in now. BTW my rhino is now near 36" long. check Craig's list for an inexpensive crate to keep your total costs down.
