So my beardie, Ziggy, has done this twice now and I’m am curious if this is just how beardies can be, or if there is something more.
Ziggy normally loves to devour dubia roaches, they are her favorite. Recently, for the 2nd time in just a few months, she will refuse to eat them. She just won’t. She watches then run and just doesn’t care. Where normally she would run at then with her tongue shooting out.
I would be worried if she wasn’t eating eating her salad. Her left salad isn’t fancy, which is how she likes it. It’s mainly collards with bits of kale, arugula and sometimes bok choy. I also throw in basil, cilantro and rosemary a few times a week. She refuses to eat anything that isn’t green. (I have tried so many veggies, she is just picky). Anyway I digress. She won’t eat black soldier larvae, mealworms, butterworms. She never has and I try. She will eat one superworm here or there. The only thing she will eat when she gets like this is hornworms, which my vet agrees is perfectly fine provided they are gut loaded with veggies like collards and bell peppers.
Do beardies just have this randomness about their eating? Or is there something more here I need to investigate? Hopefully she will be back to herself within a week like last time.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
