this is our new as yet to be named dragon, he's 5.76 inches and 7.8 grams. Pretty tiny compared to my late and great Omni who was about 340 at the end of ehr short life..
Update on Crixus, he's being treated for mild coccidia, but other than that he's doing well. He's already eating greens and crickets are not only food, but fun for him. It's funny how you forget just how much a baby can eat after having an adult that only ate every other day or so. When I got him last Tuesday, 12/4 I picked up 200 crickets and they were gone yesterday. I feed twice a day and know I'm not overfeeding, it just blows my mind what that tiny 11 gram dragon can eat. The vet said he looks great, his skin, eyes and everything else looked good. They thought he was cute w/ his yellow lips, he doesn't have a spot of yellow on his entire body/tail, but his mouth has a bit of yellow which is so unlike his base coloring. My only hope is we can knock this coccidia out sooner rather than later, we'll see....
Crixus has beat the coccidia in 10 days, it was a mild case, but was discouraged as it's sometimes hard to get rid of. Now he's on panacur for pinworms 3 doses 2 weeks apart and after a clean fecal I'm hoping that's it for my little guy. He's an even 7" now and growing like crazy, just had a full shed and his appetite is phenomenal, demeanor is great, loves to be handled and colors changed after the shed..
2 new pics from the dragon of the house, he's recently shed and the pics don't do him much justice, but want to take pics each week to see his growth on film..
Crixus is now 9" and 35 grams, he was only 6" and 11 grams back on Dec. 10th. Crazy how fast they grow, I put Omni's giant log in w/ him and his baby logs and he's in jungle heaven. Today he completed shed on his head and front legs, the red markings on his face are really prominent and I can't wait to see his back when he sheds that in the next couple of days. I have reptiworms coming for him tomorrow and I'm sure he'll be very pleased to have some magically appear in his salad.. Good to go except having the final fecal done after one more dose of the panacur to make sure the pinnies are wiped out, it only took 10 days to be rid of the coccidia... Just floored w/ his growth so far and glad he'll soon be completely healthy..
Crixus just shed back/belly today.. he's now an even 12" and 85+ grams, eating all the greens you give and a cricket maniac.. funny how I picked him thinking he looked nothing like my Omni, but he's turning out to look a LOT like her..

Hello. Gorgeous baby you have there. My Bilia looks alot like your baby. Seems the babies have that weird brown color mixed with some other color; yellow in my case. Do you find that the colors come out with age?
In my experience (only had 2 beardies ever) they get darker as they shed each time.. Crixus looks nothing like he did when I picked him out, but he's developed some orange striping down the sides of his face and along the edges of his spikes that run down his sides.. Thanks for telling me he's gorgeous, I love him just as much as my dog...

You are very welcome. My Bilia; named after a 14th Century Philosopher, has some orange on him from his face running down his sides. I am hoping he keeps it. Either way he is my baby. I have a 1 1/2 year old Fancy Leopard Gecko as well and a 5 1/2 foot 3 year old Boa. We love our babies. Needless to say nobody is out at the same time as the others!! This is my first Beardie. My brother had one that recently passed away and I doted on him when we lived with him for a short time and there began my love for Beardies. I look forward to seeing more pictures of Crixus.
