Liquid Calcium

My beardie, Sunshine, is about 6 months. I have some Reptical with D along with Herptivite. I understand that he needs his bugs dusted 5 times a week. But it always makes such a mess dusting the roaches. I also have some liquid calcium for Bug-de-lite that I used for a sick adult dragon that was not eating regularly. I was thinking about using it with Sunshine. I never re-used the syringe after it touched the sick one's mouth. But I am assuming it doesn't have D and also that it is more potent than the powder. Any advice on how often to use the liquid with a juvie? I hate for it to go to waste.

If you can help me make sure I am giving him the calcium correct dose, I would appreciate that too. He weighs 205 grams. The calcium dosage is 1mg per kg with a concentration of 3.28mg/mL.

I'd ask Tracie about the liquid calcium. It's pretty concentrated though and I read about it being used mainly for sick dragons or those who need an unusually large boost of calcium. A smaller dosage may do the trick though, I don't know. The dusting is designed to bring bugs up to a healthy calcium level similar to what they'd get in the wild when they have access to a wider variety of food. I've found that putting a bit of dust in a small cup, adding a few bugs at a time, and shaking the cup coats them evenly. I then tilt the cup slightly and let the bugs walk out a few at a time so they're easy to track. That method keeps the excess dust in the cup and works pretty well for keeping things clean.

Hello,

Sure, glad I saw this post. :D You can use the liquid for dragons that are not sick, just not as much.
What is your dragon's weight & I can dose for you. If you want to PM me your email, I can send a chart too, if you would like.

Hi Tracie - sorry it took me so long to get back after you responded. Life is moving at break-neck speed. But I would love to know the dose for my dragon. He is 235 grams. :)

I have never sent a PM here but I will figure it out and send you my email. Thank you!

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
